It means someone who simply goes against the values which are associated with America, with the American justice system etc. An example of someone who is unamerican would describe someone who would prefer or a theory that would advocate.... tight security over liberty, guilty until proven innocent, stifling debate and free speech, no voice of the people, taxation without representation, or being uncompassionate toward others. Noone is pretending America doesn't have problems such as homelessness and poverty with Christian conservatives in Congress who refuse who solve these problems, yet somehow believe that's how God wants it, and still think Heaven still an option for them (haha it's not). But someone who is immoral, uncompassionate and wants to avoid world problems and reponsibility and accountability esp a world leader would be considered UNAMERICAN. (LIKE GEORGE WALKER BUSH who would rather be a dictator with no checks and balances and ignore laws of congress and illegally wiretap and have security but no liberty)

To me- "Unamerican" means- you don't belong here. Because ultimately- we're ALL here from somewhere else. And one of the primary concepts of this countries existance- was that there is freedom for ALL who were willing to work hard & to protect it. It was never ment to be easy this way; it WAS ment to be equal for all (once the "bugs" -like slavery- were worked out). Sure it's idealistic. But what's wrong with THAT? Would you rather live someplace where that idealism is against the law? Be carefull who you would ban from entering into this country. Because if you would be truely JUST, then you must allow the Native Americans to decide who should stay- or go back to "where they came from..."

Being "Unamerican", to me, would mean acting, writing, talking or spelling like an American. Another definition would be not coming from America.
In other words, anything that is different to how an American would do it.

To be unamerican to me means to not care whether the government sinks or swims, to not love your family, to put all before the constitution!
