I'm there now. I've been to many doctors and depending on the extent of the acid in your stomach you should try the following: If it's just heartburn or an occasional feeling of acid reflux, try the over-the-counter antacids (Rolaids, Tums and if need be Maalox). Try to avoid citric acidity foods such as anything with tomatoes and lemon based. Also, avoid chocolates and dairy. Milk sometimes does the opposite effect. If all else fails and the pain persists, see your primary care physician and they will prescribe some stronger antacids such as Omeprazole or a stronger Tagamet. Take care and hope you feel better.

Avoid foods with a high amount of acid, such as orange juice, chocolate, ketchup, etc. Also take some antacids. You could also consult your doctor. They can prescribe you some medicine that will help reduce the acid in your stomach.

avoid hot and spicey foods or foods that have increased carbonation and acid, perhaps try an OTC med like Zantac, Tagament, Pepcid OTC etc. etc. and any store brands of these meds would be okay too. If that isn't of help you may need a Rx for something stronger, in that case contact your primary care doctor for an appt. Best of luck.

Go to your local pharmacy and get yourself a bottle of digestive enzymes. You take them with your food, they're natural and perfectly safe. It helps you digest your foods better and stop heartburn etc.
