it is a great thing that you as a parent are aware of the things your child is going through....I too began this habit at a very young age but only because I was taught by someone else...I am now 20 and sometimes still indulge in it......but I can't help but think if someone would have noticed then maybe I wouldn't have had sex so young or had a child so young.....please just talk to your daughter....let her know its normal and ask her questions as to why she does it....and remember its never to soon to begin talking about safe sex

i would talk to her and find out whats going on, how did she learn to do that? that sounds wrong but i didn't know how else to put it. if it is something she just stumbled on (as most do as they grow up and start to explore) or did someone show her (molestation, late night tv, a friend etc). it could be something as simple as she was exploring and it felt good so she does it now. she may be "developing" sooner. keep in mind girls usually do hit puberty faster, and she might be getting there she's not that far off from it anyway.
i encourage you to talk to her, but don't make her feel ashamed about it. it is a natural thing and everyone has done it at some point. if indeed it is because of an abuse she has endured i urge you to take her to a conselor and start working toward making her better mentally.

children explore their bodies, yes but masturbating all the time. i suggest you see a therapist with your daughter, there must be a reason for this, she could have been molested or her friends are introducing her to pornography which is definitely wrong at her age.im sure you wouldn't want her to be the next kid wanting to get pregnant on yahoo answers as iv read before. please do not ignore this, what happens when masturbating isnt enough and she starts having sex?

Mrs. its better that your daughter is masturbating at home than getting to go outside the house and havin sex with a bunch of guys, I think you should sit down with her and have a talk, make sure she is smart and keeps her legs close, but there is nothing wrong with her playing with herself

for all of you "pinches putos" giving stupis comments on her having boyfriends, toys, videos and things. what kind of advice is that? i bet you are the ones with no kids or mentally sicked. this girls is only 10 years old, no reason whatsoever she is to have a boyfriend or allowed to see videos or any material of that kind unless is educational or from school, my advice "from a parent" is that this parent should seek qualified advice and be more involved with her school activities and personal life like her friends and make sure her friends are about the same age, activities they take on. this little girl doing that could be the influence of another older child, a grown up, a wrong sense of what she is doing is right influenced by something else, etc. true this is normal but it seems to me is way too soon for her, a child with positives influences and with enough things to do would be by far less likely to do this too soon. what kind of sick person would even consider giving those senseless comments, you know who you all are.

As long as she's not doing it in public or anything, i don't think it's behavior that needs to be curbed. She'll get tired of it sooner or later.
If you try and stop her now, you might interfere/damage with her sexual development because you will give her the impression that masturbation is a bad thing and she might wind up feeling ashamed of herself, and it will snowball as time passes.

OMG! well dont panick, does she watch porn movies or have porn magazines? are her friends like that too? have time with your kid... for now you should be around more often. buy her toys for her age. introduce her to sports or new friends, maybe. talk to her in a friendly manner.. but if nothing happens. ask help from professionals.. but i think its bebcause of her invironment, at that early age, kids are exposed to sex and drugs, also check if she uses illegal drugs... if she has friends who "maybe" influenced her.. better pull you daughter out of the pit.. good luck

Most kids masturbate without knowing what they are doing. They find it like a game.Try to talk to her.Do not let her know about this.Give her some time.Do not talk to her about masturbating but instead give her a talk about puberty.Tell her what happens once she reaches puberty and hw she must be careful.Indirectly let her know about sex.

I heard that this was quite normal and you should tell her to do it in private. I babysat a girl when she was around 10 years of age and she did the same thing.

I presume that she is just rubbing her genital area and not masturbating. it may be due to some sensation she enjoys or she may have some urine infection.
in case it is infection, take her to doc.
or else try to keep her busy in activities of her interest and make her aware that it is not right.
