a 3-legged dog. because if you will have a headless chicken, it is like you dont have pet . because a headless chicken is dead already. it is better to have 3-legged dog 'coz it has life

a three legged dog , a headless chicken just flops around and gets blood all over the place very messy pet plus it sheds feathers and won't lay eggs anymore.
