I personally dont understand how so many people couldve voted for him, but I do know why. See, Bush IS smart when it comes to finding some support. He just pulls the Evangelical card out and suddenly everyone who thinks theyre Christian votes for him. During debates he would bring up gay marriage and abortion, topics that werent even the main issues at the time, just to pull in the Evangelical vote. And hey, it worked!
People dont understand that its a political tactic. Notice when his polls went down earlier this year, all of a sudden he wants a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to ban gay marriage! Oh, what a coincidence! The main issue is the war, but to him two gay guys kissing is more important? Of course not, and he knew that bill would never pass. But the second he brought the topic up, his poll results went up too. Thats how you get reelected.

Most of the comments so far, are right on... It is NOT about 'seniors' being blind - fool! It's about blindly accepting whatever the Supreme Court says... even though it [supreme court] was obviously biased. I haven't yet figured out how to fight such a 'biased' system... if we have a republican congress, republican president, republican supreme court, then... we take it back to the people! However, we did not have smart enough politicians to think of this...
So, it's up to the "People" to ensure this NEVER happens again!!
Dang, what a way to learn a lesson! If, after this disastrous presidency, et al, the people of this country have NOT learned a good lesson, then SHAME on them! I say "them" because I didn't vote for hiM!
When I first thought of voting, I thought I wanted to follow the leadership of Abraham Lincoln. I did, I became a Democrat!!! Of the two parties; i.e. Democrats and Republicans, the Democrats follow more the leadership of President Abraham Lincoln than do the Republicans! It astonishes me how the rEpUkiCaNs still claim they are Lincoln republicans!! WRONG!
Note: for any people that defend this president and his policies, and this do-nothing congress and their "cronies" I feel sorry for your brain-washed selves. Get the facts!

Well, he stole the first election because the Bush family is extremely powerful in Florida.
The second election, the GOP convinced the American public that they were voting against gay marriage instead of real issues that actually mattered, such as a terrible economy, an illegal war, and the fact that more jobs were lost under G.W. than any other president. Apparently, voters found it more of an issue that two gay people not get married than the fact that they were unemployed.
I'm a straight man, I could care less if two gay people marry, I just want a damn job. And I can't get one due to this idiot.

it is an old adage that every form of government tends to fail by excess of its own basic principle.
Democracy is a two edged sword. too much can be a bad thing. the founding fathers wanted the vote limited to only those educated male property owners who had a stake in the enterprise.
but this franchise has been ever extended to include more and more lowly types who do not have anything to lose, do not care or know about anything and do not have the sense to pound sand into a rat hole.
every 18 yr old person can vote now, no matter how uneducated, stupid, insane, silly, poor etc etc etc. So we get what we get.

Well in this country the popular vote means nothing ie you and me. The real vote is the electoral vote, basically a couple hundred rich folks you get together and decide who will make them the most money. And then laugh when we all go out and vote like it means something. Ex. 2000 bush lost the popular vote and won the elector vote that’s how the moron got his job.

He didn't need to know anything, his family and connections got him in office and I guess no one wanted kearey in office. plus he used 9/11 and fear mongering to get re-elected.
Following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Bush (re)declared a global War on Terrorism and ordered the invasion of Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban and expel Al-Qaeda.[1] His response to 9/11 led to an immediate surge in his popularity. Following a failed attempt at convincing Saddam Hussein diplomatically to yield to further weapons inspections, Bush ordered an invasion of Iraq, although the inspections that were in progress at the time had not yet concluded and the specifically designated Weapons of Mass Destruction that the Coalition of the Willing invaded to capture have never been found. Following the overthrow of Hussein's regime, Bush committed the U.S. to establishing democracy in the Middle East, and specifically in both Afghanistan and Iraq in the short term. A self-described "war President",[2] Bush won re-election in 2004 after an intense and heated election campaign, becoming the first candidate to win a majority vote in 16 years, as well as the largest tally of votes for any presidential candidate. Since re-election in 2004, Bush has received increasingly heated criticisms for his management of the war, as well as domestic issues, which have caused his popularity to decline.

First we had to wind up with a majority of morons in the country. After that, it was...ok, if not easy, probably inevitable.

Because Florida consists mainly of old people, who really can't SEE well enough to read thier ballots properly,
& the rest of the Country consists mainly of morons who can't THINK well enough to read their ballots properly:
Thus they chose the moron canidate who can't think well enough to read ANYTHING properly...
It's kind of a chain-effect with the corporate douche-bags behind the whole thing....
(P.S.: "JOE BLACK" is one of the morons I was talking about, as well. I speak as true red-blooded American when I say that that stupid voters elect stupid Presidents...)
