Many good things are given to people. Unfortunately, I have found that someone is usually nearby and ready to take it away from you even if you get it. The only people I have ever seen get handed everything in life are con artists or people who are somehow not quite innocent or kind! You know what I mean?

Almost never. It's almost better that this is the case. Since it is so rare to occur, it is ALWAYS better to assume you won't be handed anything so that if you are, you will appreciate it more. Plus, if you expect to be handed things, you won't develop as good a work ethic and will not accomplish enough in the short time you are alive.

I have had a great deal handed to me and opportunity has knocked often and I have accepted. I have also had a lot of bad breaks and falls. I live life. I work hard and accept graciously as well. I also give a lot. The key is no expectations.

Some people get things handed to them, some work for everything, and others get screwed no matter how much they try... This is life, you can Lead, you can follow, or you can get out of the way!

to work for something is earn it. to earn it is to value the results. and the results create self worth, pride and life lessons. but believe me i wouldn't mind some empty, meaningless gifts. i don't need to learn about life lessons all day long! lol!! ask paris hilton! she'll tell ya what it's like. poor thing works so hard. now there's a girl who knows the value of hard work. (lol!!)

Yes, problems. Problems were just handed to me and I didn't have to work for them. So no, you don't have to work for every single thing in life... sometimes you just get "lucky".

It's fun to have something given to you to a point. There is no real pleasure without pain. Things mean more when you earn them.

Your mother's milk is handed to you, the only work is required is for you to suck.
Be grateful, this may be the last time in your life that something is free.

I have worked for everything that I have. of course we ALL need help every now and then.

people who have everything handed to them do not appreciate things as much as people who work for their things.

I've had a number of things handed to me: shovels; pliers; dishrags; stacks of unpaid bills and, last but not least, soap.

I'm still waiting for that mink coat to fall in my lap.
