God laws are above man's laws - He did not grant us the right to the pursuit of happiness, only the American constitution did that. So for Christians to make their stand against homosexuality, it's not to deny anyone their "pleasures", it's to stand for higher laws than man's. It actually saddens Christians that it even has to be brought up or discussed as if the nation had stayed true to God's ways, instead of pursing their own individual happiness and lustful desires that have brought down this nation, then the topic would never have been a media bonanza. So, please don't think Christians are happily telling others how to live and what should or shouldn't make them happy - Christian's aren't forcing their definition of proper on anyone - they're simply reinforcing what God has already set in motion - and God didn't set in motion homosexuality.

Partially because they (not just Christians of course) believe that it's not "Ideal" for raising children because the child will be raised by same-sex parents. Then there's the moral value nearly all the states that currently banned same-sex marriages are some of the most conservative states
State for/against
AR 75/25
GA 77/23
KT 75/25
MI 59/41
MS 86/14
MT 66/34
ND 73/27
OH 62/38
OK 76/24
UT 66/34
most of which also ban stem cell research...FYI Wisconsin will be the first state to have a stem cell bank. AHHH the best part of this state...its not filled with insane conservatives like Georgia.

Isn't forcing Christians to accept gay marriages a denial of their rights?

when you say "Christians" that refers to all. I personally belive in Jesus Christ to be my personal lord and savior yet I believe that Gay people are regular folks like yourself and I. I think in 50 years people will look back and see the Gay community as a very persecuted bunch just like the African Americans. God loves all, who are we to judge? How can anyone look down on another human being. It's a weird world we live in.

So you wouldn't deny two brothers if they wanted to get married. But then YOU would say its gross and incest and deny them happiness. I guess telling others how to live is what makes you happy. Even gay people have moral values that they impose on others.

the words "gays of happiness" sound so lovely. Too bad so many people want to make the lives of gay people unhappy. I have to applaud commitment of any sort these days--it takes courage to get married with the intention of staying married (which is the only way TO get married...) and any people who choose this have MY blessing for what it's worth.

Telling people how to live is there was of caring. The feel they are right, so the select people going against it have a high chance of not looking great in their selected eyes.
Its just some peoples way.
It goes against the book.

As a Christian with a gay brother that I love..... Yes I want my bro to be happy, but I don't believe he will find true happiness in homosexuality...
Here's my logic...
God created us all. He loves us and wants us all to be happy. He knows what will and won't make us happy. He's even told us- That information is called "Commandments"
If we follow, obey, or "keep" the commandments of God, we will find the long-term happiness He wants us to have...
Living a homosexual lifestyle is NOT included in following, obeying or keeping the commandments of God, as I understand them.
As much as I love my brother, I don't really want that as an example to my children. I don't want them to think that homosexuality is a viable option for finding happiness, because in my mind, it's not.

"Gods way"? God wants us to be happy, and if that means being with a member of the same sex, so be it. Please understand that not all Christians are anti-gay. a lot of people just don't like gays because that's what they were raised to believe or because they just don't understand it, and because everyone wants to believe god is on their side they say its a sin. God doesn't discriminate.

The Bible states Leviticus 18:22, "No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that."
My personal opinion, God made adam and eve not adam and steve, but do what you want
