Like the rest of your body, your period will change as you get older. Cramping and blood clots are quite normal for a lot of women and it is not a sure sign of a miscarriage. It's unlikely that more sex will cause your period to change; however, unprotected sex can cause other problems that could show up with cramping and blood.
I would highly recommend that you book a full exam with your doctor complete with a PAP smear (which you should have a least once a year if you are sexual active).
Nothing wrong with asking questions when you don't know what to do ;)

Your level of sexual activity will not change the "quality" of your periods.
I have had at least 2 diagnosed miscarriages, and 5 total "suspected" ones (same symptoms, too quick for a pregnancy diagnosis before they started)...and my "earlier" miscarriages (under 10 weeks) were pretty much pain/clot free...more like a normal period.
The ones I had right at 10 weeks, I could honestly feel my cervix contracting. It was god awful.
I would chalk it up to because you were a little bit late, you're just having a rougher period.
If you're not bleeding enough to change a pad once an hour, then you're more than likely not hemorraging.
So, if it doesn't get better in a few days, call your doc. If it quits and next cycle is like this, too, call your doc.
It could be an indication of some hormonal problems or problems such as ENDO or fibroids that need to be addressed.

you could be having a miscarriage. That is common and sometimes missed when women think they have only a heavy period. But if you have normal periods and this is out of the norm, it is likely. you should go to your OB/GYN to make sure you don't have anything else going on. It also could have been a cyst that busted from your uterus or ovaries. Go in to the doc just in case. it is also unlikely that a period would change just because you are having intercourse.

It doesn't really sound like it has to be a miscarriage, but you might want to schedule a visit to the doc just to make sure.
Sex can definately alter your body's menstruation patterns. Time can also alter it. When I first started menstruating, I never had one cramp - never. About 4 years after my first period, I began having awful cramps and still have them today. Unfortunately, your body may just be changing. And, like I said, having sex more often can also change it up just a bit.
It doesn't sound like anything to worry about, but it wouldn't hurt to head to the doctor sometime in the near future.

You may have been pregnant or just a bit late on your period. You may want to do a urine preg. test. Even if this is a miscarriage the preg test would still read positive because it would take several weeks before your body is rid of the pregnancy hormone HCG. If the test come back positive you should make appt with OB/GYN to discuss your health and possible need for D&C. Best of luck to you.

I have never heard that having sex changes your periods, but your periods DO change over the years. You can never really base anything on what one particular period was like, but rather you need to see a pattern of change. If you see a pattern of this type of change, you will want to tell your ob-gyn on your next visit.

You could be non-regular due to sexual intercourse which could change your body's behavour or going through stress. See what the Dr can help with your cramping. From what i recently went through, thats what happened to me I had bad cramps. i hadnt had in years and recently i had alot of sex and got the cramps. my period came early as well.

It's possible. You should go see your doctor. Lots of women have miscarriages before they even realize that they are pregnant. It just means that something wasn't progressing normally, and the body takes care of it. Don't worry too much, but go see your doc.
