XXXXXXXXX My husband is Canadian. Because he had to go through immigration for a year after we married I was the one to work. Two jobs and pregnant in Las Vegas to boot. It was the hardest year of my life. My husband promised if I got us through he'd carry the ball afterwards. It's been 13 years and four children. He's been carrying the ball ever since. I was the bread winner in the beginning. Now I'm just the WINNER!!!!!!!

I have been the bread winner in my first and this marriage. I would love to stay home with my children, but when it came down to it. I was better able to do so financially than my husband. He loves the time he is sharing with our children, but it is not easy on me because my children are such a comfort to me. I am glad we are making a balance though. I wouldn't ever resent my husband for it. our kids are smart and have him to depend on during the day. That is what is most important, that they have that stability.

Yes, I am but that what marriages is about for richer or poor. But, it don't bother me at all but I know it tee's him off. I encourage him to move up at his job so he can be the bread winner. Sometime I hate being the bread winner but its not about me its about our "FAMILY"

Yes, I am now. I guess if your "mate" doesn't help out.. you can become resentful... but if your "mate" helps and you don't dwell on money too much it isn't too bad. I make 4 times more than my husband... and it all goes into the same account and we enjoy life. Try not to get hung up on stuff like that. If he isn't working... then you might have a problem. Good Luck to you.

Yes I have, and it really gets to you if your husband sits at home while you work. It may have been different to my marriage if the husband had actually DONE something to help out during the day, but he either slept or sat on his butt watching TV. I am sure other people can make their situation work, but mine did not.

Yes, and it didn't bother me, or him. I knew where my husband was, I knew that my son was being taken care of by a loving person, and the bills were paid on time. What was there to worry about? Funny, it bothered other people, but not us.
