i am an extremely straight girl, but i have a best friend [who's a girl] who is very very pretty, and i love her to death [like a sister] but i feel like i think about her more than i should but is it just because she's my BEST friend? cuz i haven't really had this great of a friend before [good ones, but not great] and if anybody, guy or girl regardless, hurt her in any way i'd prolly beat the living crap out of them. is it okay to do that for a best friend? i have no sexual feelings for her at all i just need to know if what i'm doing and feeling is okay.

First, there's nothing wrong with thinking about a particular friend often. You're lucky to have found a friend who has such a great impact on you!
Second, you seem really paranoid about people thinking you are lesbian - I wonder if you're a little scared that you might be lesbian. And the answer is: you're a lesbian if you feel like you are a lesbian. Instead of making this into a scary bad thing, just relax! There's no pressure to fit into a certain category, be that straight or gay, don't worry about that and let yourself feel how you feel! We humans are gifted with the ability to feel a huge range of emotion - don't restrict yourself just because you're freaked out about some stupid labels!
Third, in our society, we are usually suspicious when people who are just friends have a deep love for each other - we automatically think that if they feel that strongly, there must be something romantic there. But there doesn't have to be, and some other cultures (many Eastern ones) support the idea of having very strong, very loving relationships between friends without any romance. Again, let yourself feel however you feel - it's perfectly natural and perfectly ok - don't worry about being "abnormal" or a freak. Just focus on the fact that you feel something amazing - does that feeling really feel wrong to you? Of course not.
Your friend is fortunate to have someone so loving. Enjoy that love and that connection, because a lot of people will never allow themselves to feel it!

Yea it is ok. I have a really good friend that if anyone ever hurt I would kill, well maybe not kill, but make them wish they never hurt that person. All it is, is you two are such great friends that you would do anything for the other and that is a true friendship. Those are very hard to find.

you have to limit how much you are willing for your friend and think of yourself too, does she feel the same for you? sooner or later you have to move on and some things you and her must do on your own. you two are two people with different lives there has to be a limit. i had best friends too but to a certain extend.

yeah, it's perfectly fine to feel very protective towards her. I feel the same way about my best friend. don't worry about what your feeling. it's normal in my book, if you WEREN'T ready to send the first person who hurt her to the hospital in a body bag, THEN i would be worried. but just remember to give her breathing room, so she'll keep being as great as she already is.

Hey its cool I feel the same way about my best friend. A saying that totally fits..."She's my best friend...Break her heart and I'll break you face" Don't worry about it...It's normal.
