Trust is never absolute. People do trust complete strangers, but only to a limited extent. If you didn't trust strangers at least a little, you wouldn't go in a store, because a stranger in the store might shoot you. But that does happen sometimes, so even the slightest trust is always a gamble. People are naturally gamblers, and that's what makes it possible to get along with strangers. So, I would gamble on trusting you, but only if the risk was very low.

Depends with what I am entrusting you. Am I trusting you to hold an unlockable door for me in the public ladies' room. Sure. Trust you not to spit in my food at a restaurant, yes. Trust you with my social security number... no... trust you with my child, nooooooooooooooo. It's all relative... trust is all in context of experience and the situation at hand.

Keep in mind... in most instances, a stranger is a friend you haven't yet met.

Technically, everyone would have to answer "yes" to this question unless they have never attempted to get to know someone. We all usually give someone the opportunity to get to know us and vice versa. That requires some level of trust, doesn't it? I also believe trust has many facets. You can trust someone to get your mail, but not drive your car, for example. So, yes, I would trust a stranger with some things.

People do it all the time. A lot of people trust that the Bible is right, and the person who wrote it is a complete stranger to them.

It would depend on regarding what. I have gotten help from complete strangers in the past, and in fact my business ( I work as Holistic Healer) depends on me trusting my intuition regarding meeting "strangers" in their homes. After a bit of conversation, I decide if they are a worthy client. I have rarely been disappointed.

I would say trust your intuition, tread softly, and carry a big stick!

Most people, if not all do...

I trust a complete stranger when I give them a credit card to pay for goods. I trust they won't double-swipe it and make a copy.

I trust the bus/taxi/subway driver with my life when I use their transportation.

I trust the geek at Yahoo Answers to not reveal my real identity...

I trust the even bigger geek at Microsoft to provide me with a software that won't erase my files or make my data vulnerable to theft

no, how can you trust some one if you do not know them , the definition of trust is "unquestioning belief in the integrity , strength or ability of a person or thing" now can you honestly say that you can feel that way about a stranger that you meet?

i can't thats why trust is earned, not garenteed

trust comes from within...today there are some people whom i know from 15 yrs...but i still dont trust them for nothing...only after seeing u personally i can let u know whether i can trust u or no....there have been situations esp in public places like bus or railway stations...where i have trusted some strangers to take care of my bags etc when i had to go to pee or buy sumthin...

It would depend. Trust...is a very broad term. Do you mean trust with my family? Trust with my child? Trust with my life? In most cases, I would have to say no.
