The process with the higher latent heat would require more energy -- in this case, the boiling of water.

Physically this is very natural becaue in melting you only remove the crystal structure of ice, but in boiling you must separate the strong hydrogen bonds between the water molecules.

acoording to the facts L of ice is 80 calories and L of water is 540 calories so obviously acc. to formula water will reqire more heat to convert it into steam
