what do they do for your 12 year up check up/ the one before you go into 7th grade so we know what to expect and stuff
(for females if that matters)

Well, I remember having to get a shot, if that helps. They also do the normal physical routine (forgot to add that). They check height, weight, and pretty much everything else. But don't worry about getting checked you know where because that is only when you start having sex or when you turn 18, but my doctor said they are changing it to the first time a woman has sex.

They check weight, height, do urine test & make sure you are up to date on your immunization shots. They'll check your vision, too. No female "inspection"! Doctor will listen to your heart & lungs, check your head, ears, nose, etc.Ask some health questions. It's no big deal. if you want to ask the doctor some private questions, tell the nurse you want some personal time to talk with doc. without your parents in the room.

Normally, at the 12 year-old check-up, the doctor will do the normal physical checks, but should also feel for lumps in your chest (breasts), and check for spinal curvature. If you care, the boys will get checked for hernias- the 'turn-your-head-and-cough' routine. Nothing should be done on your lower half, unless you are doing sexual stuff, and PLEASE, don't be doing sexual stuff at 12. This check-up is nothing to worry about.

Update shots, check eyes, ears, mouth usually just the basics for school. Best way to find out would be ask the doctor she is going to.

It probably depends on the doctor.
I did not have to take off any clothing, but I did get a shot.
However, things may have changed in the last fifteen years.

They don't do a actual physical. My daughter turned 12 and they checked everything like normal visity and made sure she was progressing physically (i.e breasts)
