Okay space is the stuff without matter - matter is the end of space. So now we discover that the atom is more than 99% space. It's now a ratio game and some scientists tell us the ratio of space to matter in an atom is roughly the same as the ratio of planets to space in our solar syestem. So now instead of asking how big we also ask how small. The concept of space nw goes both ways.
Okay now for the question How many places can life exist and how many of them do you think we are in right now?

Please remember I am not well educated on this matter Keep it simple .............I am curious

How many places can life exist? A very large number in total, but a very small percentage of total places.
