New research is showing that a woman can have sex and up to 5 days later conceive (sperm lives inside you). What leaks out afterward is never all, those little babies can swim! I would try being on top and also afterward, lie with your legs up against the wall, with a pillow under your hips. That way maybe you can maximize how many swimmers stay.
If your cycle is irregular and you are underweight or overweight, sometimes gaining or losing 10-15 pounds also helps.
You can also buy a basal thermometer at the drug store to chart your temperature, when you see a spike in your temperature (taken by mouth) that is usually when you are ovulating. Directions come with the thermometer they are usually pretty cheap. A more expensive method is the ovulation kits at the drug store. And there is always your doctor who can point you in the right direction. Have fun and good luck!!
For Timmy the Turd: did you know until only has one L? lol

Well in average it takes about 1 year once you stop birth control.Sperm lives inside a girl for up to 3 days.Lets say you ovulate today and you had sex yesterday, the sperm is still in you to fertilise the matured egg.But you have to note that female's matured can only live up to 12 to 24 hrs after that it dies off and prepares the body for another cycle.I read everyone's answer and they said putting in pillow under your hips will work. This is done to allow the sperm travel faster.I read and heard from Dr's that our vagina is like a vaccum they can just suck in the sperm once its done. The thing over here is on whether the sperm has enough lubricant to push them up further or will they die in the high acidity value in your present in your vagina depends on yourself. If you really feel that you have tried enough then go and see a Gyn.

Once inside the woman, a sperm can live for up to 5 days. Most of that gets pushed out though through basic female plumbing. If you want a better chance of it going deeper and staying in there you're going to have to make her orgasm. When a woman orgasms it actually sucks you're little troopers into the trenches.
Other then that, visit a fertility doctor. They can help you identify ovulation times and perhaps medications that can help.

Right after sex, bring yours (or her) legs up, and hold
them against her chest, her knees should be touching
her chest if your doing it right, as you are doing this
rock back and forth side to side, this pushes the sperm
up into the cervix.
Also look at your diet, you need to eat
plenty of protein and fat and get
a quality high potency vitamin.
Also you should try this product
for the woman and the man.
PLUS by mannatech, it helps to correct
hormone imbalances in men and women
and therefore corrects any hormone related
infertilities, it is a natural hormone precursor
so no wories about side effects.

dosnt matter how long you keep it in you, it dies after a few hours i think depends on your body temp, if i remmeber right it only lives like10 mins in the air
How long can sperm live outside the body? Is there any way that a girl can get pregnant by getting a guy off? Can a girl get pregnant during her period? How long will sperm live inside a woman's body, and when would be the best time for a women to have sex? Does the clear substance that comes out before ejaculation contain sperm?
How long can sperm can probably live outside of the body? Probably about an hour. The rule of thumb most health educators use is to avoid contact with semen and other bodily fluids while they are wet. This is not only because there may be active sperm, but because there may be bacteria and virus that are still alive in the fluid. Just to be safe, it is best to use precautions around dried bodily fluids as well. This means not allow the fluid to come into direct contact with your skin.
Can you get pregnant when you do not have intercourse? Absolutely. It happens all the time with artificial insemination. But in those cases, doctors are using instruments to get the sperm to their final destination. It's less likely to occur if you accidentally sit on some wet semen or if your partner ejaculates outside of your vagina. But it is not impossible. All the little buggers needs is a warm wet environment, and who knows what they can accomplish. The fluid that comes out of the penis before ejaculation, is pre- ejaculate. It can contain sperm, and therefore it is possible to get pregnant even if the man withdraws before he ejaculates.
To be safe you should avoid getting sperm on your partner. Not just to avoid pregnancy, but also to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Plus, it's a pain to clean up.
Now, sperm can live inside of a woman's body for two to five days, or up to a week if they reach the fallopian tubes. A woman's reproductive tract is hostile territory for sperm. The pH of the vagina kills off most of them, and of the one percent that make it past the mucus plug at the bottom of the cervix, most end up in the wrong tube. Given the vagina's apparent hostility towards the sperm, and the sperm's poor sense of direction – it seems like getting pregnant is a difficult thing to do. But the one million unplanned teen pregnancies and 1.5 million abortions that go on in the US every year suggest otherwise. A couple having unprotected sex for a year have an 85 to 90 percent chance of getting pregnant. After all, the egg, is about 85,000 times bigger than the sperm cell. It's not that hard to spot.
A woman usually releases one egg a month from her ovaries into the fallopian tube. The release of a mature egg occurs about 14 days before the start of her menstrual cycle. The first day of a woman's period is considered the first day of her cycle. The egg has to be fertilized within 24 to 48 hours of release. Fertilization takes place in the fallopian tubes. Of the 500 million sperm that are ejaculated, about 250 make it to this point, but the fallopian tubes are a much more scenic and inviting territory for the sperm. They can hang around for up to a week just waiting for that egg.
So – keeping in mind how long sperm live, and how long you have after ovulation – for an average woman with a 28 day cycle, getting pregnant is possible between the 8th and 20th days of the cycle with the 12th to the 16th days being the most fertile. Most women's periods are not a consistent 28 days and you can not really be sure. While the time during a woman's period is considered low risk for getting pregnant – it is not no risk. Add to that, the increased risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease during a woman's period. It's best just to use a safe and reliable method of birth control correctly, every time you have sex. Then you don't have to worry about doing all of this math or figuring out some kind of ejaculation voodoo that won't work.

this sounds nuts, but after you have done the deed, put your feet up the wall. this will tip your vagina up and the sperm will "run" (for lack of a better word) onto the cervix. and that's where they need to get to to be able to get into the uterus to fertilize an egg. i tried it and i was pregnant within 3 months. (i was told it would be difficult if at all possible for me to conceive!) good luck

ask a good doctor... he\she will give you the best tips and tricks. make your ovulation calender. and if there is any (serious) problem to conceive, you are anyway on the right address.
i usually do not trust doctors a lot, but for such tips they are very useful.

I guess some couples are luckier than others, but we didnt really have to *try* to get pregnant....Give it a month or two, meanwhile enjoy the intercourse :). (itll be good for you & your partner!) If you still dont "turn the lines blue" then consult a doctor. GOODLUCK! :)
Im 21wks preg with my first baby.
