He is Minnie Mouses boyfriend. He also made millions for Walt Disney ad his family. Mickey came to animated life in 1928 but his name then was Steamboat Willie. I am not sure when Walt renamed him Mickey Mouse.

Finally in the heart of "The Happiest Place on Earth" - Disney Land in Anaheim, California lies a statue of ol' Walt raising a Nazi-style salute to the East directly towards Berlin... all the while holding an infantile Mickey Mouse by the hand. - STRIKE THREE!!!

Other than that Disney Land is pretty cool and the Pirates of the Caribbean ride is awesome, and Splash Mountain, The Indiana Jones ride and Space Mountain.
But Mickey, poor, poor Mickey was Walt's perverse alter ego.
P.S. - He voiced the original Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Mickey onward until his death.
