I know! But you have to remember that the news given to US Americans is very biased - it is almost propaganda. I say this as a New Zealander who views many of your so-called news reports (especially those regarding the Middle East) with incredulity.

If you mean the senseless wars against the native Americans in the colonization of the U.S.A. it was widely supported at the time due to racist attitudes that have changed.
Though there are different racist attidues now that get in the way of diplomacy and gentlemanly conduct with other nations and immigration, it's a complex issue though because in the present there are people that come into our country and expect the same prosperity as those that were here in a sense we are overrun unless they also pay their way and are productive, which can be too many people to live at the same standard as before and so those that have lowered their living standards even slightly tend to blame it on those that are immigrants.
And though there are wars that Americans are part of and actually participated in that are in other parts of the world that might seem against an indigenous people too, not sure if I answered your question.
We are made up of individuals, no American, no person of any nationality, is like any other, and some may differ on their points of view.

Dorie, you seem to be the only voice of reason on this forum that understands the issue at hand. The Palestinian people indeed are the indigenous people of Palestine. I may have already explained this, but for the education of the ignorant, I will repeat it. The Palestinian Arabs are not merely the descendants of the Muslim Arab conquerors of the seventh century, but the cumulative stock that included all of the races that had entered and settled in Palestine since the dawn of history. They preceded BOTH Jew and Muslim Arab in addition to incorporating them.
Yes, my friend, it is genocide that Zionist Israel is committing. It is encouraged and paid for by the American government simply due to the fact that pro-Zionist companies, politicians, media and the motion picture industry are so prominent and influential in our country. We (the United States) are also interested in the oil rich countries of the middle east which leads to the thievery of land which we have no right to.
Once people stop listening to the propaganda that is spouted from our media and start thinking with their consciences and opening their hearts to the actual atrocities that our government condones and contributes to, maybe, just maybe this horrible issue can begin to be resolved. Until then, keep the Palestinians and well as the other nations that are next to suffer in your prayers.

Yes bungiebabe please read more history.
You will find that under Turkish rule there was a minority of Jews in Palestine and they co-existed peacefully with muslim and christian arabs.
After WW1 the Zionist Jews in Europe and America began agitating for a Jewish state in Palestine.
After WW2 and the holocaust large numbers of surviving Jews from Europe entered Palestine illegally against the wishes of the British government which had a mandate to rule Palestine from the League of Nations at the end of WW1.
These immigrants formed terrorist gangs, the most infamous of which was the Stern Gang and carried out many atrocities against the government and the indigenous population.
Among the most notorious of these was the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem with the loss of over 90 lives.
They also kidnapped and murdered hostages, and invented the letter bomb.
This campaign of terror eventually led to the withdrawal of British forces.
These immigrants then declared the State of Israel in 1948 and proceeded with a policy of ethnic cleansing , driving arabs off their land and massacring anybody who opposed them, in some cases whole villages of men, women and children.
Many of the major terrorists became ministers in subsequent israeli governments and their success has been an inspiration to modern terrorist movements worldwide.
Since 1948 there has been a constant policy of encouraging further immigration from Europe, America and Africa of anybody who could be considered remotely Jewish ( you only needed one jewish grandparent). As these new immigrants arrived so the indigenous population lost more land and were displaced into refugee camps.
This is the root cause of the present warfare in the Middle East.

Well, if this is in response to Israel taking over Palestine, lets look at some simple issues first.
After Israel was settled, and the UN left, what happened?
The neighboring Arab countries invaded, with the idea, to push the Jews into the sea.
The only thing they forgot to do, was know how to fight.
Israel, by the end of the year, not only held what land was given to them by the UN, but had secured it's own borders, against further attacks.
Now, looking at it a bit further, America didn't supply Israel, first....Russia did. Russia, or the soviet union, as it was, wanted an ally on the coast, to park warships. When they discovered Israel wasn't interested in a worker's paradise, they turned their weapons salesmen to Egypt, and other Arab states. That's when in the cold war, we started to aid Israel. We also helped out in Iran, for a time, and as well, in other countries, with technical help.
As the stage sits, I highly doubt you can call what Israel did, genocide. For genocide to occur, you'd see all the camps that the pals are in, rounded up, marched into the desert, and shot. Not just one or two, but all of them. Some pals are fine, hard working people. Some, are militants, who do nothing, but shout death to Israel. And lastly, there's the idiots in charge, of Hamas, who are so brave, they don't even live in Gaza, but are hiding in Syria, so they don't have to go suicide themselves....while sucking up money from donations, usually from Iran.
We support Israel, because they have a higher sense of values, than most of the Arab countries. We also support them, because they value life, a lot more. And most importantly, they give us an ally in the middle east, who for years, hated america....and to a great deal, still does.
Whats a better question, is not why does Israel commit genocide....is why doesn't Gaza spend money on schools that teach, rather than on guns and explosives that kill and maim people?

Please read more history. i feel so sorry for israel. I hate hezbollah for hiding among the citizens, I'm mad at the innocent citizens who wouldn't leave. This is the first war where i saw a Country warn so many times to get out of the way. People on the streets of lebonan were finding the leaflets being dropped and they were just tearing them up on the news. During Israel's War of Independence in 1948, they were invaded by the armies of 5 Arab nations: Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, and Trans-Jordan (Jordan today). The tiny Jewish army was outgunned and outnumbered, but they fought back the invaders and their tiny democracy survived.
In 1967, Israel launched a preemptive attack on Egypt after the blockade of the Straits of Tiran, a crucial point for Israeli shipping, and the armies of Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, joined to the defense of Egypt in a 5-year defensive treaty, began to attack. Once again, their armies were defeated and Israel held the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.
In October of 1973, Israel was invaded once again by the armies of Egypt and Syria on the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. Things looked grim for the first 48 hours, but a series of counterattacks turned the tide against the Arab nations, which were pushed back beyond the territory held by Israel after the Six-Day War of 1967.
I think Israel has repeatedly shown that they can handle someone much bigger than them.

It is hardly surprising since the US has done this against a number of people, not just First Nations peoples. The US slaughtered Mexicans to steal the area we know as the American Southwest from Mexico. And, of course, we're still doing it today by attempting to create puppet-states with only the most minimal veneer of democracy in the MIddle East.

I don't think many people believe that particular thing. What specifically are you talking about?
Do you mean how we killed off the Native Americans and used ethnic cleansing to drive them from their homelands 150 years ago? Yes, it was widely supported and paid for by Americans, but I don't think many people still like the idea that we did it. Unfortunately, what's done is done.
But I'll admit, sometimes I hate myself for being white. We are a race of major a$$holes.

Yes, how could anyone think so considering there is no on-going genocide of indigenous people ...so on and so forth...?????
If you've come out of visiting an asylum, don't worry, they'll be cured any day and see reality is different.

I think you have misconstrued the objective with which the Isrealis are engaging Hezballah, just as you have muddled your perception of their comportment of said Islamic Extremists. Subsequently, it would be beneficial to your credibility as an orator to ascertain all the specifics and details about the circumstances at hand, before making garbled conjectures.
