I can't tell if it's a stinging insect or not, but it moves really fast and it's HUGE and no one is here but me and my sister and we're terrified! PS we're 23 and 27, pretty embarrassing huh?

does it look like a wasp or a bee? don't try to kill it -- you might just piss it off and it might go and sting you. does it have really long legs and look like a huge mosquito? then it could be a crane fly.. they get pretty big -- if so leave it alone, they're beneficial insects. Anything else you can probably just kill with a fly swatter. Or shoot it with a spray bottle filled with water or a watergun. The easiest way to get rid of insects in the house is just to open a window and "shoo" it out. It avoids the splatter and the smooshed insect on the panelling that you have to clean up. Good luck

1st: Assume the worst. It's a killer. A killer insect that is just waiting for you and your sister to go to bed so that it can attack.
DO NOT PANIC.
Killer insects will sense your fear, and that only makes them braver.
2nd: When you go to bed, sneak a Remington Model 870 shotgun into bed with you. This shotgun is a manually operated, tubular magazine-fed, pump-action shoulder weapon suitable for close quarters combat, MOUT breaching, guard duty, and short range, killer-insect control.
Warn your sister ahead of time that you might be forced to use this weapon if the insect comes after you and/or her.
Hopefully, this warning will prevent any accidental and unintentional wounding, maiming or killing of any "unintended" targets.
DO NOT BE AFRAID TO EMPTY YOUR WEAPON, IF NECESSARY, TO PROTECT YOURSELF.
Remember, it's you, (and maybe your sister), or the bug.
Apartment walls be damned!
Besides, the landlord should be happy you aren't suing for renting you and your sister a killer insect-inhabited apartment.

Best of luck and God speed!

The insect will probably move toward light, so try to make the direction you want the insect to go as light as possible and where you want it to leave as dark as possible.

This may sound crazy, but try spraying it with aerosol hairspray. It may make it so that it's wings won't move and it should drop to the ground and then you can either kill it or set it free outside. Good luck! :)

run out of the apartment waving your hands over your heads while screaming. If you're good-looking enough, a knight in shining armor will come save the day!
