It is a teaching position. i was wondering about the cost of living in RAK, like the price of rent per month , the cost of food, transport, entertainment, clothing etc. What's life like out there for a single canadian female?

yeah, that would prob be ok, if you dont die of boredom! RAK is fairly small and not much to do. but that means that you could get a decent apt for that money, and nowhere to spend your salary, so you should be fine!! good luck, it's not that bad, nice beaches.

Life in RAK is not as expensive as Dubai but at your salary, do not expect a "good" life, expect a decent - ok life. Rent in RAK for a 1 bed room should be in the range of 4000-5000 DHS, unless you plan on a long drive in the morning.
Food, trasport, entertainement & clothing are on the expensive side so you will probably not be saving any money.

This is too good. All this money and you are single, you can live a peaceful life here. Plus the fact that RAK is cheaper when you compare it with Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
I will say dont miss it. Take it.
(I live in sharjah for much lower wage and i am single)

well i think u should live like aking
i live in rak and earn upto 5000 without any allowences but still i am enjoying every moment of my life
and u r almost earning double than me so dont take any tension enjoy as much as u can or save it for ur future
