In a torrent of wars, international and domestic, physical and spiritual, I see people torn from believing that nothing is worth fighting over, and some that believe a spilled beer is worth fighting over. So, I'm curious...what do you think is worth a fight/war?

Natural resources.
Security.
Land.

This pretty much covers the reasons for war.

well lets see... for some religion is first and foremost...the most important thing to them. a belief that strong is worth fighting for especially if it is compromised by someone else..

I really do not know why we are in a war.. but you see the Iraqi's fighting for Allah ... to them this is the Holy War .. the war to end all wars.

Another great question, Holleygirl. I'm impressed.
On the international scene, preserving our freedom is number one.
Nationally, preserving our rights as citizens against government usurpation is one.
At local level, defending your loved ones, yourself, and the innocent from the bad guys is a big one.

Few things cannot be settled on a platform of mutual understanding with the fair exchange of opposing viewpoints. Violence is inevitable when one side refuses to compromise their beliefs.

Probably best answered by what is not worth fighting for. It is not worth fighting to; impose your religious belief over another, to impose your way of life over another, to grab another's land, family, and resources, to vent your hatred, prejudice and bigotry, to enslave.

or for the heck of it....to be mean and ugly.

each and every time there is injustice happening contained in the international, even as an possibility free human is denied the right to stay or denied to stay both, or if an possibility free existence is taken away because someone in a better position did not help that man or woman's way of wondering. those are motives to wrestle for. Wars is also fought in self-protection. Politicians lately commence wars in accordance with stupid pastimes, yet even as it includes scuffling with for the persons, they alter into ignorant or they say that that is of no problem to them. human beings might want to be in contact even as any possibility free human is denied equality, justice, or is killed wrongly! affirming it does no longer problem us is an identical as affirming we haven't any thoughts and we are no longer human...equivalent to affirming, "enable the Palestinians die by way of the undeniable fact that is none of our organization," or affirming, "enable human beings in Africa die of starvation and AIDS because it isn't hurting us in any way!!" or "enable the Iranians protest and die contained in the streets, helping them gained't benefit us in any way." there's a poem at the front of the United international locations progression in Persian, i imagine, that announces: The sons of Adam are limbs of one yet another, Having been created of one essence. even as the calamity of time impacts one limb the different limbs can't proceed to be at relax. If thou hast no sympathy for the concerns of others Thou paintings unworthy to be referred to as by the call of a human. yet, conflict might want to be a very last hotel, it may no longer be the first ingredient that we bounce to. look at Gandhi, as an party. He freed India from the British rule without even making use of his fists to wrestle!
