I say both and my family is proof! My mother and father were both born blessed with absolutely beautiful singing voices! My father was even a professional singer for a time in his life. I, however, was born with a less than beautiful singing voice! I never drove people to stab their ears out, but I certainly got that look of "please don't do that again" when I would try. I was very upset that I had not "inherited" this trait so my father set me up with a singing coach. It took me 2 years, but I now sing and get compliments rather than *the look*! Then there is always my borther, who tried lessons and still couldn't carry a tune in a bucket! Thank goodness he has other tallents!!

When I used to be little, i do not remember having a good voice, but now I do. But i have normally cherished song. I will in finding myself whistling, or humming, or dancing to a bit of beat in my head througout the day. I can even to find song when i'm walking in nature my ft are the drums on the floor. Even when i'm sitting i'll pat my legs and have a tune occurring in my head. I consider you might be born being a musical individual, or you are born whatever else like an artist, or each, or any person who could be very publication intelligent. Everyone is proficient of their possess methods, and not every body is a musical man or woman, even if each person loves music. I can sing fairly good, however I should not have an interest for doing artwork for longer than ten minutes, then I turn out to be bored. Every body is gifted, but with exceptional matters. Afterall, God loves sort! :)

That is something that you are born with. If you cannot carry a tune or have a flat or whinny voice it doesn't matter how many lessons you take.... you will suck. You are born with a good voice but even a good voice has to be trained. Superstars like Cher and Celine Dion train their voices daily and try not to talk on days that they preform.

Both. Some people are just more talented from birth, but no matter what, in order to get good you have to exercise that talent.

Conversely, you can have a person who doesn't have as much talent but puts in twice the amount of work into training their voice and they'll probably end up a better singer.

I think it's a mixture of both. Most people can't sing a thing without some sort of training, but it's your own induvidual vocal chords that gives singers an original sound.

well the talent has to be there for someone to help you fine tune it and turn it into a wonderful instrument. i use to have a really good voice and perfect pitch according to my choir director. and then i stopped organized lessons and rehearsals i guess you would say. and it is not as easy to control my voice... i am sad now and want to sing well again!!

Both. I've met people with natural talent, and I 've met people who couldn't carry a tune even with years of training. On the other hand, someone with potential can expect major improvement with the right training, coaching, and practice.

Developed through training. But, some who are "successful" have crappy voices like Stevie Nicks and Willie Nelson.

First you must not be Tone Deaf. So if you can hum tunes in proper keys than you are all set and all you need is practise.

Can I sing? you be the judge www.myspace.com/covenvox
