* Eyebrow Threading FAQs *
Description
Threading is a centuries-old technique of hair removal practiced in India, and rapidly growing in popularity across the United States. The beautician removes individual or rows of unwanted hair by using string or “thread”, and pulling out the hairs by the follicle.
Does threading hurt?
The sensation usually takes 1-2 times to get used to, but customers say it hurts less than waxing. Many customers say it doesn’t hurt at all.
Why is threading better than waxing, tweezing, and razors?
Waxing tends to burn, peel, and irritate the skin, especially the skin around the eyes. In addition, repeated waxing increases the chances of wrinkles, especially around the sensitive eye area. Tweezing and razors increase the chances of in-grown hairs and cutting the skin. Waxing, tweezing, and razors all make facial hair grow back thicker and faster. Threading is more precise and the hair grows back thinner and slower; there is also no burning, peeling, or irritation, and is good for getting rid of in-grown hairs.
How often do I have to do threading?
It varies from person to person but for eyebrows, usually every 2-3 weeks.

Its the process of removing unwanted hair on the eyebrows....very much like tweezing the eyebrows to achieve a desired shape, but threading allows you to remove many hairs at once so its faster. Its also more effective than using a tweezer, as its strong pull removes the hair from its root.
What you do is wrap a peice of thread around both your forefingers and thumbs, and twist the middle, to make like a little hole to capture the hair. Then you tighten the knot and pull.
It is the form of eyebrow shaping used in Asian countries, because they have a thicker and darker growth of hair I guess, and tweezing it would be too time consuming.
Its not really all that painful. Its over in 10 minutes, and you get over the pain almost immediately :)

Eyebrow threading is plucking of your eyebrow with cotton strings. That's all. People do it to shape their eyebrow so their face could look brighter and prettier. It's getting to be rather popular in Singapore.
Eyebrow threading is a practice of shaping the eyebrows using a thread. It is commonly practised by women in India and the Middle East. They use a pure cotton thread. They generally twist the hair and threading pulls out a whole row of hair, as opposed to tweezing where only one single hair is pulled out. Threading is often preferred to tweezing because of the naturally straight lines of hair removed by the thread. It is pulled out from the follicle. Some women focus particularly on the joint between the eyebrow [[1]] , thus interrupting so-called "unibrows" Threading is also used on the upper lip and face.

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal that is still used in parts of the Middle and Far East. Thin, twisted cotton threads are rolled over untidy hairlines, mustaches and so on, plucking the offending hair. In Western countries, threading can still be found being performed in beauty salons. Like other methods of hair removal which involve plucking, threading can result in ingrown hairs.

people do eyebrow threading to shape their brows...instead of plucking the brows one by one,they used thread to pluck the hair few strands at a time...its painful but i guess thats the price for wanting a beautifully shaped eyebrow....

It is a way to remove unwanted hair. It can cause ingrown hairs just like tweezing. People do it to get rid of uni-brows lol. Why do most people tweeze, wax or tread? To look good and make their eyebrows neat.

that is plucking each and every of your eyebrow hairs one by one. it is going to break. i've got heard various human beings cry from it. i desire to advise waxing. Plus the thread is going into the female/guy's mouth to maintain it stable.. i come across that unsanitary. however the convenience is that it plucks your eyebrows right .. elegance is discomfort precise ?
