Ok, I amthe mom of a cloicy baby and let me tell you right now that there is NOTHING you can do. They told me Mylacon Drops (went throught 3 bottles in two months, nothing) Hot watter bottle( tried that made him cry louder), bounce him on your knee ( did that just made him puke). My advice, this is what I did, find a support group in your area of women and men who have been there. If you want you are welcome to email me directly and I'd be happy to talk to you. I spent the first 3 months of my babys life with him straped sucurely into his swing and me on the back pourch with the door open just enough to hear him to be sure that he was alright. I have a VERY strong support system of friends, family and a phone list of moms just like me that were just beside them selves. If you want over the counter thing to try I do have a few sugestions, there is a holistic product called Gripe Water ( couldn't find it when my son was going through it) I've heard wounderful things about it. Or, I don't know if you've heard of Teething Tablets or not (check your local healthfood store) but they make a Colic Tablet too and that did seem to help my guy a little. the screaming got lower anyway. My Prayers are with you cause I know how hard this is. Tell you Son/Daughter I'd love to be of help if they would like to email me directly. I hope this helps.

I know how you feel, my daughter did the same thing and I thought I was going to lose my mind! It can be very frustrating and if you need a break it's ok to put her in her bed and let her cry for a minute so you don't pull your hair out (shes gunna cry even if you hold her so what's the difference right?) I ended up getting my baby some colic drops called natural made or something and it was a tummy soother and it worked wonders. She would always cry around the same time everyday so I gave it to her bout half an hour before that and shed be fine. It lasted for 3 or 4 weeks and she finally stopped and is now a very happy 3 1/2 month old :) just try and be strong and maybe get her some colic medicine. Good luck!

HE MAY HAVE REFLUX--IF HE BALLS UP LIKE HIS BELLY IS HURTING WHILE HE SCREAMS THEN IT IS PROBABLY REFLUX! THE DOCTOR CAN PRESCRIBE "ZANTAC" TO HIM IF THATS WHAT IT IS......ALSO TRY GETTING "GAS DROPS" AT WAL-MART (THE GENERIC BRAND IS AS GOOD AS THE OTHER AND 1/3 OF THE PRICE)
TRY SWITCHING HIS FORMULA (WE HAD TO USE NUTRAMIGEN---WHICH IS REALLY EXPENSIVE! ) YOU COULD ALSO TRY GIVING HIM GOATS MILK (WHICH U CAN ALSO GET AT WAL-MART IN THE FOOD CENTER)
AND MAKE SURE HE IS BEING BURPED REALLY REALLY GOOD !
ALSO TRY LAYING HIM ON YOUR LEGS WHILE YOUR SITTING DOWN AND BOUCE YOUR LEGS UP AND DOWN AND PAT HIM ON HIS BACK WHILE DOING THIS.
BY THE WAY....THE DR'S KEPT SAYING IT WAS COLIC WITH MY BABY, BUT IT WAS REFLUX! SO IF U THINK ITS MORE THAN COLIC KEEP PUSHING THEM OR GET A SECOND OP.
THATS WHAT I HAD TO DO!
HOPE THIS HELPS !!!!!

if he's formula fed try all the stuff others suggested. if he's breastfed she could try only nursing on one side at a feeding. the baby would get more hindmilk which can help relieve colic. or mom could cut out onions/peppers/dairy from her diet and see if that helps. i would take him to the dr too just to be sure there is not something wrong other than colic. good luck, a fussy baby is so sad!

Has the doctor diagnosed him as actually having Colic?
Could be numerous things. Colic, Heartburn, Acid Reflux, Constipation, Allergies etc.
Formula is usually one cause. Think about switching to a Soy Based one.
Breastfeeding MOM has to carefully watch what she eats. Sure it takes good to her BUT it might affect the baby.
If it's Colic, placing across your legs while rubbing his back usually works wonders. Keeping him off is tummy too. Warm baths, towels, water bottles, blankets etc.
There are many prescriptions the doctor could write or recommend.

1) change milk (some milk have lots of bubbles)
2) change milk bottle (to the anti colic kind)
3) burp him more often
4) give him colic syrup

Make sure its colic first.
If so during the day you can give him Mylecon Gas Drops and at night before bed give him a little Dee Wee's.
Dee Wee's is a colic medicine but you only give them a little bit because it has alcohol in it. Works wonders.
A nurse told me about it and I used it on my son.

Get him checked by the doctor to make sure he is just colic. If it is their is lots you can do to sooth his pain. The warm washer on the belly, the pram bummpy ride, the gentle bounce, looking into what he's being fed and allergies, the tummy rub, the blanket wrap and my fav. the bicycle legs. Look up how to sooth the colic baby for more ideas.

My first son had colic, and the only thing that helped was one of those vibrating bouncy seats. We went through 3 of them with him. And the gas relief drops, should help some as well. Our pediatrician also suggested he be put on GoodStart formula, which is supposed to be easier to digest. Best wishes for you all, it's a hard thing to get through, but it will pass!!

my 5yr. old had it at 3 months and it would last for 3 hours 3 times a week it was like clockwork at exactly 11:14 pm it would start. it was hell to go thru. what helped me was to put her in her swing and turn it up as high as it would go and she would just fall asleep from being dizzy. I know it sounds mean but if it is truly colic you have to keep your sanity by doing what ever works. It will pass and you will survive.

First, talk to the doctor - make sure there's nothing internally wrong that could be causing him pain. If the doctor deems him colicky, then I'd first try Mylicon drops - they're highly recommended by pediatricians. Same thing with "Gripe Water" (homeopathic and all natural - perfectly safe as well). If neither of these work, try Gentle Ease formula...some friends recently called it their "miracle". Also, if you're currently burping him, try not burping him after a feeding. I have a 3 year old & a 17 month old, and burping them actually made them worse! If I burped them, they'd spit up almost the whole feeding. However, if I just held them sitting upright for a few minutes afterward, they'd basically burp themselves. Hope this helps you guys!!! :)
