If we were to have another civil war in the United States, what would be the cause?

There will be a multitude of 'causes', but likely one triggering event. Look at what happened in our first 'civil war' (the revolution ca 1775-83). Taxation, immigration, onerous regulation and a host of other things caused unrest, but a government attempt at gun control (Redcoats trying to seize Colonists weapons stores in Massacussetts) led to 'the shot heard round the world' (the 'battles' of Lexington & Concord). Some say those first shots have already been fired (Waco, TX).

It would be the rich vs the poor, with the Bush presidency the gap between the rich and the poor has grow. I myself am not poor by any means, but im not rich either, and i identify with the poor because for so many years in my youth i struggled to make my way. the poor and middle class make this country run, but the rich take all the profit, they are so greedy it make me sick.

Out-of-control government, taking away civil liberties in the name of security, until the masses suddenly wise up.
Don't actually think it will happen, as long as our standard of living stays high...we're too lazy.
