this year the worst would be........... i would say Tampa bay lighting i think that because they dont have anyone good mean that who they have is very lazy, look at Brad Richards,Martin St. Louis Valac Prospal yes they are god but they aint producing at much as they did i think it because their golie left and they have sean burke and marc denis denis is okay but they didnt do what their capable to do.

I think St Louis. They were second worst last year. I think they will fall to last. They haven't done anything yet to improve. And even the 3rd worst, division rival Chicago just made some good trades. Last place Pittsburgh is starting to gel. Years at the bottom thus getting priority in drafts means they will start to climb.
The west is a lot tougher than the east. And Central is a tough division. Continuing with the stupid schedule like last year, were the teams play too many games in the division, there will continue to be a correlation of a division having the top teams as well as the bottom teams. St Louis plays Detroit and Nashville too much. Both have their number. The only way it might not happen, is if those 2 focus on what they need to do to win in the playoffs and not focus on the presidents trophy.

First off i have to say that whoever said that st. Louis was the second worse this past year didn't pay close enough attention to the end of the year... cause once We lost Sanford we became the WORST team in the League Pittsburgh nearly missed it by a small margin but We were still the worst.
Second i don't think that the Blues will be the worst again, we may be at the start of a few "Rebuilding years" but i think that after some of the moves we have made in the Free agency will effect us and give the guys a boost.

Central West will be alot tougher this year; Nashville is still a solid team, and CBJ turned a corner last year (hoping that they can re-sign Zherdev), St.Louis has a new owner so they are no longer content on losing and cutting costs. Detroit, is scarry old, and I'm confused about some of the rumors comming from H-town, but they are still a talented team.
My choice for bottom is the Caps, although they have top end talent, they are still too young and too shallow of a team to keep it up. Ovechkin might be the MVP by next season though...

In the east, the Islanders, or Pittsburgh.
In the west, the Blackhawks, Columbus, or possibly the Phoenix Coyotes

I'd have to say the Chicago Blackhawks are favoured to be the worst team. Their goaltending - i.e. Khabibulin......has not played up to an appropriate level for what they are paying. The addition of Havlat won't mean anything. Their offense is mediocre, their defense basically sucks...with the exception of Seabrook, and their goaltending has played wayyyyy under par.

I might be from DC but I think the Capitals.
They traded one of their best players [halpern] and Kolzig [goalie] is getting kinda old.
But they haven't really ever been that good, except when the won the Stanley Cup a while back.....but they never seem to be the worst.
I really don't know haha.

MY guess so far this summer is Boston, Montreal, Atlanta, Islanders, Columbus, or Florida will be the worst. Lets see how many more free agents get signed first!

I'd say the Capitals. Sure the Penguins were down there but they have the talent and should be getting better. Don't really see the Capitals having the talent to improve as much.

Toronto Maple Leafs suck. Go Ottawa Sens. (Sorry have to support my home team - We waited so long for this franchise to come back)
