You sound like you have everything under control and did all the right things. A mother is always afraid for her children and always trying to protect them. You are fine. After this is over, your fear will lesson some, but you will watch your children and pay attention when they don't look right to you. That is normal, and good too.
Good Luck to you....

Try not to live in fear of another seizure. Your child will sense your fear and it will make him nervous and insecure. The good news is that children outgrow febrile seizures. In the meantime, since he had one already, once he gets a fever, immediately go into prevention mode. Give him tylenol and put cool cloths on his forehead or, better yet, give him a tepid bath to prevent his fever from climbing. Also take him to the doctor to determine the cause of the fever.

You did all the right things before and use that knowledge to help you overcome your fear. Remember, the body does things to help us...your son was helped because of the seizure...the seizure resulted in his being in the hospital where he was diagnosed with the salmonella. If that seizure hadn't gotten him to the hospital, the salmonella might not have been picked up so quickly.

You did well, mom...so now put the fear behind you. You handled it well, you are capable so there is no reason to be afraid!

This happened to my daughter when she was 2 1/2 and the best you can do is assess your child... and know that sometimes we can't and a seizure is a way of telling us that there is a problem.. and be thankful to God that He gives us signs!!! and the rest give to God by faith ! Wisdom is power!

Put him or them in God's hands everyday.
I know it is scary. It happened to my daughter when she was 3.
Make sure if they have a fever do not pour on blankets and do not dress them overly.
