I've had that since I was thirteen. Every time I take a shower. The only times it doesn't really itch much is if I take a shower right after working out or swimming. Otherwise I itch like you do. The only way I've found to get rid of it is to sit in one spot for five minutes, and keep your mind on something else. I've been to dermatologist, and they had me try everything; lotions, soaps, creams. Nothing helped. They thought it was all in my head. For awhile, I used baby oil on my skin right afterwards, and that seemed to help.

Sometimes on my back it itches after showering.
Could you be moisturizing too much - in other words, to make your skin too oily?
Could you be allergic to your soap, shampoo, conditioner, or whatever the towels are washed and bleached with?
Do you have bad, or very hard water?
You could probably check this out at webmd.com, etc., or call a doctor to get an opinion.

you might change the type of soap you use. My kids always end up itchy after using the deoderant soaps (Zest, safeguard, irish spring, even the little kid soaps!). Its all drying to the skin.
We exclusively use Dove, or ivory if we can't find dove. Or sometimes I'll buy the infant soap since its usually gentle (and more portable for traveling).
Could also the the type of water you have. Espically if you have hard water and are treating it with salt (is it salt?).

That happens to me if I take too hot of a shower or bath, I also have very sensitive skin and using too much soap can cause your skin to dry up and itch as well

Sounds like you use to hot of water. Try a cooler shower for the next few days and get back to us. Make sure you rinse well, and wait a few hours before you moisturize.

Could be the soap. I used to use Ivory, which is harsh as hell - probably the harshest on the market next to Lye cakes. My doctor told me to switch to something like Dove and it worked. "No need to spend a lot of money," he said, which automatically ruled out Neurogena !!!
I also had to buy less harsh clothes detergent. Arm & Hammer "Free" (no perfumes or other additives) works pretty good. It actually cleans the clothes too!
See your doctor, and good luck with it.

Are you sharing your shower with an old mangy mutt? Are you taking a mud bath in old dirty mud? These can both lead to intching and other disgusting conditions. Unless your involved in a relationship with the mut, I'd suggest seperate showers.

It could be a change in temperature, coming out from a warm shower to cold air will cause your pores to tighten up quickly causing itching.
