You're afraid of your family, and hesitant to over come your fear. Afraid to be the adult you are, afraid to be responsible. Other fears, too. But you have to overcome them! Go ahead and committe, Missy! If you don't commit, you'll regret it in the future, maybe even lose the guy!

Most people have a fear of committment until they are in their mid to late 20s.

Probably you are scare due to personal experience or other peoples experience. If you really know this guy then why will you be afraid. Just be sure when you love someone, leave some love for your self. Don't be afraid to fall in love, it's the nicest feeling. Good luck.

Maybe you are afraid that if you become a couple and it doesn't work out that you will lose your friend. Something to think about, they say you marry your best friend.

i think it is because you are scared that you might get your heart broken. you might think that if it is 'official' then you might have to settle down and your 'wild' time is over. remember it is better to love and lost than never to love .if you really love this person then dont be scared to commit. who knows, if you dont commit he might get fedup with you and go for a 'steady' girl. you will be lonely and sad then. do you really what that? think about it. face your fears.conquer you fear for your love.

when you make a conscious decision to commit we kinda let ourselves go and open up a hell-of-a-lot more. we leave ourselves vulnerable becuase we put so much trust in our partner. i think your afraid to commit cos you dont want to leave yourself open to being hurt. thats just the risk we have to take when we commit though. anyway its just a theory.
