my parents were the best, but i must say they have a special love for my son. maybe because my dad never had a son so he looks at mine like his. i dont think they love grandchildren more, but in a special way. they do things with him that they never did with my sister and i. he is basically their life. my dad calls llike 5 times a day to talk to my son, not me. i heard a little saying once...your children make you grand, but your grandchildren make you great. (get it. grandchildren, great granchildren) i thought that was true.

I don't know that they love either more. My grandmother is in her 90's and I know that her 2 children take care of her and see her daily. Her grandchildren, myself included see her when we can. I would think if you had to pick one, she'd say that she loved her kids more than her grandklds because she can always count on them.

I have a 3 year old grandaughter and I love her to death. I think the big difference that people, including my son would think I love her more is because you are more patient with your grandchildren. I let her get away with everything, my son would tell you. I was very strict with my kids, but the thing about grandkids is you don't see them and live with them 24 hours a day like I did my children.

My mother was very strict and I even remember her with my children, saying to myself, is that the same mother that I had growing up? Grandkids just seem to bring out the best in you. The older you get, typically the more mellow you get.

If I had to choose my son or my grandaughter though, if it came down to it, I'd have to choose my son. I wouldn't really say that I love him more, but I've loved him longer. It would really be a hard choice though.

I'd have to say my children, because I used more caring-discipline on the children... & spoil the grandchildren more.

depends on the parent, in my case i think my mother loves my son more than she did her own children, but i know i will never love anyone more than my own child.
