I see nudity everywhere these days, and although I do have some strong feelings about it, there are certain things I don't understand and I want your opinion(s) on it.
When I use to view modern nudity, I accepted it as it was, but I started to feel sinful when I acted like it was no problem. Now that I feel bad about it, I feel like no matter the situation, a person bares their soul. The problem is, I like people who feel free this age and people who express themselves. Nudity makes me feel too happy, but then I feel like a pervert for liking it for something.
I accept artistic nudity and old nude photos from pre-80s eras don't please me, but I reject porno mags and the fact that so many people use nudity to advertise as well as people who use it to get attention.
To me, nudity isn't normal, but can't be avoided as it pops up on newstands, posters, t.v., and online. I can try to accept it, but I feel like I'm setting a bad example if I embrace nude art or a nude lifestyle.

I agree that nudity has become much too public, and publicly accepted. To me one of a woman's greatest charms is when she's the ONLY one, in all the world, that her man ever sees in the nude; when she saves that beauty for him alone, and he reciprocates in loving trust. How can her beauty help but be cheapened if she's the tenth nude or near-nude woman he's seen that day?

Unless you were born in a tux and tails, nudity is entirely normal for people. While todays TV goes way beyond the pale, we still have the option of changing the chanell. The human body is a work of art that houses the most sophisticated bio-electric computer system in the universe.
I do sometimes wish women today would leave a little more to the imagination. The style in the late 30's and 40's was classy , sexy, and demure all at the same time.

Yes the human body is a beautiful work of art, even in basic Christianity. Our country was founded by purtians who had many hangups, not just nudity. The Victorian era did not help matters. I agree that there is not wrong doings of nudity in the bible. I do not know the direct quote from Genesis buy it was something like, "They were naked and unashamed" The shame came from the fruit knowledge, because Adam and Eve did not understand. I feel that saying nudity is wrong is like saying God made a mistake. I have also notice that these Christians, who speak against nudity, daily actions seem to contradict the teachings of the bible. Also, being with nudist, their action are very much the life and actions we are suppose to follow. "As Nature Intended"

Nudity is just fine. It's religious repression that makes you feel that way. IT's just a body. The Europeans have a good, healthy attitude toward nudity and they have way fewer sexual assaults there. It's something you just see, in advertising, magazines, TV.
From http://www.figleafforum.com/resources_clothing_nakedness.html
"Moreover, public toplessness is not uncommon in most of Europe, and complete nudity is tolerated in more settings in many European countries than it is in the United States. Yet, in most of Western Europe, the rates of sex crimes (and of all violent crimes, generally) per capita are significantly lower than in the United States. While there are other cultural and historical differences which may explain the lower overall violent crime rates in Europe, neither Europe nor Texas provide experimental verification of the proposition that toleration of exposure leads to increased sex crime rates. Rather, it is simply assumed that this must be true, even contrary to the evidence. But belief in a proposition even contrary to the evidence is an attribute of religion, not of the secular science politicians who debate in this area imply is on their side."
It's just a body... and it's a beautiful body that you believe your God created. What is so shameful about it? You are embarrassed because your church and other religious folk have told you that you SHOULD be... and you really don't have to be.

I don't know about the rest of you....
but I view nudity with MY EYES. *lol* :D Sorry, somebody had to say it.
Having said that....*nobody is making you look* you know? You can always invest in a cool-looking pair of dark sunglasses and just sorta hide it when you squint and do your little "see no evil, see NO EVIL!" little fundie bleater thing....
I mean really. If nudity is such a big sin, then why didn't we show up with fur or some other cover on? Tell you why...because we are *supposed* to be naked under some circumstances.
And all the rest is *commentary* on whether you like or dislike those circumstances.

The sad reality is this: Americans as a whole, or at least those elected to office and those that live in the bible belt seem to think the human body is a dirty thing.
For those that believe in god, god made the human form. Oddly enough, god made us in all shapes, color and sizes.
In many other countries, the nude body is celebrated... not shunned based on some ultra right wing interpretation of the bible.
The human body is to be admired, lusted, caressed, massaged, viewed and loved....

This question sounds really familiar. Check to see if it's been posted before...
That said:
I spend my time in my home, nude. I would never go to a nudist colony or nude beach - it's not something I want to share.
If naked/nude actors or models make you uncomfortable, avert your eyes.
You are nude when you bathe or shower, how can that be bad.
Don't do what you aren't comfortable doing.

You are waaaaay overthinking this. Like what you like, don't like what you don't like, just don't push your opinions on other people. And, what the hell do you mean nudity isn't normal? Were you born wearing a diaper? If it hadn't been for Granny Smith and a python, you wouldn't be thinking these aberrant thoughts.

I like to view it very closely.
Seriously though, the human body nude is a beautiful thing, but it should be saved for private moments between lovers. I don't think it should be used as a media advertising tool.

With my eyes bugging out of my head.
Seriously, there is a difference between cheesecake and a gynocological review.
I don't mind a coy, teasing shot. There is something artistic and playful about it.
It's when it gets overly expressive that it shifts into something smutty and slutty.

i think in america, americans have made nudity this horrible thing, however america was brought into this world by puritans, so we see it through the eyes of the puritans, as this sacred thing, however the naked body is a sacred thing, but i think it is made to be shown, not in a crude way but in a beautiful way. the naked body is beautiful, and much of europe has been able to embrace that. i think we shouldnt be so ridgid about it. and let it be.
