AHHHHHH! I hate it! I'm 17, and people either always tell me to eat more or that i look really young (i've been told that i look like i'm 14.) Any advice on how to get people to stop saying these things?

I'm 27 5'2 and 110lbs. I don't think that it's ok to tell someone that is thin that they "are so skinny!" We thin girls don't go up to fat people and say "you are so fat!" What is the difference? I eat ALL the time(hell I'm eating right now). If I could gain weight I would.

Look, people are going to say crap all your life. It is all up to you and how you look at it. If you really are anorexic, then you need seek professional help. Or make sure that you are eating healthy to your own standards. If you are naturally a thin person and are not anorexic, I can see how marching band and dance can make you a target of that speculation. Let me preference by saying that all this really means that you have a very healthy metabolism and that there should be nothing wrong with your body. As far as the jerks that give you these comments, you need to realize that they only comment on what they think you should look like. And to be truthful, the control of what you should look like should be completely up to you. So if you like the way you are right now, then you are beautiful and no one should make you think otherwise. And if you think you can look better, then you should explore good and safe ways to fit yourself to your expectations.

Life is what you make of it, not what other people think it should be.

Tell them to mind their business. That happened to me too. Now I weigh 135 and I am 5'6 I need to loose five pounds. (hehe) Don't worry you will gain weight. I ate a gallon of cocoa mint chip ice cream every two days and that's why I have to loose 5 lbs. People can be so cruel. Its better to be under than over! Trust me eat that ice cream! Lift weights. Exercise plenty. Only do this after you have gained a desired weight though. And don't listen to people that say eat. They are already fat and all they know how to do is eat. They have no idea what its like to be underweight cause they have never been under weight or a normal weight a day in their lives. I had been under weight when I was that age. ( don't ever smoke that won't help!} smoking will make you stay thin if you are already and look really sick!

there is nothing wrong with your weight. i'm 23, 5'4'' and 110, and i have a 6 month old boy. people tell me i look like i'm 18 and look anerexic also. i've been told that since i was in 9th grade. i was also in the marching band and color gaurd so being active in the heat and dancing doesn't really help, but it doesn't hurt either. you'll probably never quit hearing it, but you will get use to it. whenever anyone tells me i look too skinny and like i'm a teenager i take it as complament, i do have kid, so one day when were both like 50 we'll look 20 and be sexy little biotches!!!!!!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've always been a very petite person, and frequently hear comments such as: "you're too skinny" or "eat a pizza." It used to bother me immensely. I was self-conscious and hurt because I knew I ate (a lot in fact) and was constantly trying to defend myself to others. Then I thought..."what the hell?" When someone criticizes you to your face....the fact is, that person is jealous of you. Next time you hear something that would normally bother you....shrug it off to plain jealousy. You probably just have a fast metabolism. As long as you find yourself beautiful and know that you don't have a problem....that's all that matters.

I know exactly what you feel like!!! I'm 13 and 5'10 and 110. Whenever I meet someone, they ask me if I'm anorexic, or if they are more polite, they just say I'm really skinny. I HATE IT!!! As for how to stop it, you could try killing everyone who bothers you. People would get the message eventually.

people are gonna say things all the time... i'm almost 21 and people have called me anorexic (and trust me, i don't look anorexic!)

you just have to start brushing their comments off.. or start doing what i did...

my cheerleader friend commented that i don't eat enough and when i went out on a double date with her and her now-ex-boyfriend, i would take 2 sips of my water and say "i'm full.. can we leave?" .. she got the point and has since stopped commenting on my eating habits and body

Yea I hate it!!! Right now I'm 5'5" and weigh 101 lbs. Probably cause I take dance and run track. But it's even worse during track and/or cross country season because my weight drops to about 95 lbs. and people start calling me skinny bones jones and are always telling me to eat. I just ignore them or say its getting old...

I'm not gonna get fat so you will be satisfied.
