Originally it was to hydrate. Water in many parts of the world was undrinkable. Buy making it into alcohol it made it safe to drink.
So today? I don't. Well not often. Maybe three or four times a year and then it is to try some new drink.

i do not favor to drink. It ought to be a very huge day. I also like a drink on the coastline...a Vodka Tonic or Gin and Tonic.....with a contact of lemon juice. Or a Pina Colada. i will have a Rum and Coke at my abode...per chance each and every arrival of the Pope? LOL. infrequently I drink extra then 2 in a evening out. I had an extremely undesirable adventure with alcohol even as i replaced into 17 or so and on account that then I easily have under no circumstances been inebriated. Thank God for that. Drunken women each and every man or woman is so fugly!

Because most of my friends get drunk. I am 22 years old, and have been drinking since I was 14. Everytime I am with my friends (not my best friend who's 43-year old, though) I am the first one drinking and the last one to stop. I drink like a fish, and wake up smelling like puke and cigarettes. But, I daresay I would never go visit my best friend with a beer in my hand.

because alcohol removes your inhibitions. when someone consumes alcohol, layers and layers of social constraint are removed. too much alcohol, however, can have an adverse effect. extreme drunkenness is a very strange state. its very numbing. i guess we all need a quick break from thinking. we all need a break from the world and reality. the right amount of booze will allow you to maintain some control over yourself, yet still allows you to "crawl out of your skin" and be yourself.

People say i shouldn't drink because i'll get hung over. but in the words of mitch hedberg, i'm not gonna stop doin sumthin because of what happens at the end:
"Hey J.J., you want an apple?"
"No! eventually it will be a core!"
It may suck at the end, but the first and middle parts are amazin.
'sides, a little drinkin just to be sociable doesn't do anyone harm. I don't drink to get drunk.

I don't drink alcohol because I have stomach problems, family history, and two meds that say not to drink alcohol. And, I don't miss it one bit.

i dont drink but came from acholic parents and i think its because it feels good to get a buzz,but again some people do it because they want to forget about there problems,but guess what when they wake up there problems are still there.it aint wirth the headache either.

Actually when i drink alchohol, it makes me relate to myself better, I feel very clearheaded, and I execute well. I wish I could buzz at work some times. :))
By the way I drink red wine, ketel one, and respesado tequilla

I do not! Too much trouble from drugs and alcohol is a drug. Gave them all up long ago and life is much better.
