Your baby is no bigger than a 1/2 inch right now. Also things are so basic right now that he/she wouldn't be recognizable if you could see a picture. I have a book here and I can tell you some of the neat things that are happening with your munchkin-to-be right now though. The arm buds(stumps) of last week have evolved and now have finger nubs on a hand, along with an elbow joint that is beginning to form. Feet are also showing up now distinctive from the leg buds with little notches where the toes will grow from. Baby's little head is almost as big as the rest of it's little body. Little folds of skin are forming eyelids and he/she has eyes that contain the lens, iris, cornea, and pigmented retina(yes eye color). The eye is about the size of a period in a book. Also the nose is starting to show. A lot of stuff for such a tiny being. He/She also has an ear slit and as you know a heart as well as a brain. Amazing huh? Week by week your munchin begins to look less like an alien and more like a baby. By week 8 the baby will look just like that, a basic(not detailed yet) baby. Congratulations!

Firstly, I would like to say congratulations! Pregnancy has been the most amazing ride of my life, I hope you find it as enjoyable as I am. Secondly, It's totally normal, you have absolutely no reason to worry.
I had some problems early on in my pregnancy, and as I was unsure of the dates of conception, I was sent for an ultrasound when I was 4 weeks pregnant. This ultrasound showed no baby, and I could not hear the heartbeat. It did however show a gestational sac, which you may have seen today at your appointment. It is where your baby would have been located. If you saw a gestational sac, chances are everything is normal.
I was sent for another ultrasound when I was 6 weeks pregnant, and I was able to only just see the baby. The baby was extremely tiny 0.57cm, which is a similar size to a grain of rice. It is a wonder I saw it at all!
If you have heard the heartbeat, I would take pleasure in knowing everything is developing as it should be, and that next time you have an ultrasound, you will be able to see your little miracle.
The reason you will have been able to hear the heartbeat is because the doppler uses ultrasound waves to amplify sounds. Your baby's heartbeat would have been amplified many, many times in order for you to hear it.
Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy, and I hope that I was of some help to you!

Well, if they got a wavelength of the heartbeat of the baby at 6 weeks, then they had to see the baby. In ultrasound, when you use doppler (which makes the sound you hear), it is because you could see the heart and put a curser on the heart to get the wavelength. Of course, the baby at 6 weeks does not look like a baby.....it looks similar to a bean! Check out the website provided to see what a six week fetus looks like.

The baby is small around six weeks of pregnancy. Around the time the baby will start forming limbs, meaning arms and legs. It's normal. If you heard the heartbeat, then there shouldn't be nothing wrong. Is this you're first baby? It's alright to worry about your unborn baby. Whose knows he or she probably playing hide-go-seek already. I didn't see the image of my child when I was three months.

The baby is only about the size of a raisin at this point. Most ultrasounds (at least the one to check size of baby and sex) are done at around 20 weeks. I think by about 10 - 12 weeks you can see the baby.

it ought to be early-or it ought to easily be your dates are off with the aid of each week or perchance a pair days make a distinction this early. definitely, it wouldnt harm to be arranged. I definitely have by no ability seen the two of my babies with out heartbeat. We observed no longer something whilst i exchange into 4 a million/2 weeks. and finally observed the newborn and heartbeat at 6 a million/2 weeks. it ought to be a neglected miscarriage. it may help in the event that they time table yet another ultrasound in each week or 2 that way you are able to have a definitie answer. and likewise they could desire to be checking your blood hcg ranges. in the event that they're becoming appropriatly then each thing is effective-

Yes - it's normal. Don't freak out. Subscribe to bulletin boards and read up on being pregnant. At 6 weeks the baby is still just a ball of cells - and a heart. Stop drinking and smoking and start eating healthy - it really DOES matter what you put into your body.

Generally, if you have a heartbeat, everything will be ok. Just think of how tiny the little thing is! It is just mind-blowing that technology can pick up the sound of such a tiny, tiny thing as a baby heartbeat through your body when it is SOOOO small! Amazing, isnt it?
