Some of them are ok,
but most of them suffer from poor production quality,
for example poor translation and poor voice acting.

Who says we don't?

OK, maybe there are some that don't (that's THEIR loss); those that don't are still watching reruns of Friends and Seinfeld. But I digress.

It's all a matter of personal taste. And do you really think with all the exposure on TV and the increasing number of anime conventions that ALL Americans don't like anime. For that matter, I happen to know that not ALL Japanese like anime.

What other animation has conventions devoted to it? And when was the last time you heard of a Hanna-Barbera convention or one for American animation in general?

I love anime myself. But why don't some Americans like anime?
For some it's a cultural difference because a lot of the ways of Japanese society are a part of the various series.
For others, it's the belief that if it's an animated program, then it must be just for kids.
But just as there is all varieties of people, there is also all different varities of anime. If you don't like one specific program, try another.
Not everybody likes everything, but somebody is bound to like something.

I'm American and I love anime! And so do most of my friends!
Of course, there's probably a few people like my dad, who seem to believe that a show is not about the story, but about the animation and special effects.

What is this, a "Bizzaro World" question?

'Why do "not americans" like animes?

Being American, I don't rightly know why "not americans" like animes. I like anime. I suppose the reason "not americans" like animes would be for similar reasons, like the artwork and the stylized action. Plus, it's different. Lots of folks like different, even "not americans".

Hello!

Who says!? I love anime as does a large portion of the San Diego,California area. Also from the turnout at the San Diego Comic Convention i would take a leap of faith to say a good section of the developed world does. Peace.

There are lots of Americans who like anime.
I don't like it however because of the influx you can't see regular american cartoons on television anymore unless they're specifically geared for the 10 and under group. Along with the movie studios leaning heavily on CGI, traditional american cartoon drawing seems to have practically become extinct.

I do not like them because I cannot relate to them. I can relate to the X-Men because they are a lot most of us Americans. Outcast that are trying to fit in, but really do not.
