I don't know if you are talking about warcraft I , II or III or are you talking about World of Warcraft.
warcraft I, II and III are real time strategy games. There isn't any of the thing you heart involved. It's a nice game which make you think and plan.
World of warcraft is an tad different. You have to buy the game and each month you pay something extra to play.
That game is 'less thinking, more doing'. What I mean is , you get quests and you have to solve them (can be founding something, picking up something, save some village ppl to kill the mayor enemy). At some point (lvl 60) you can't get higher in lvl but only higher in gear. if you want to get that you'll have to play a very long time at ones and you gonna have to do it lot's of times if you want all the item. Ones you get those there are even better ones , ....
the problem here is : IT'S ADDICTING
don't know how old your son is but if he still goes to school I would recommend you to talk with your boy about it cause it destroyed lots op children's school points/ - Carrier. (as well for grown-ups lives )

Most of that rating comes from the fact that you are actually playing with real people-- so general chat can get pretty raunchy sometimes. It also makes a different what kind of guild (if any) he is in. Some guilds are very friendly and cognizant of younger players-- others are very vulgar.
I have heard of parents turning off the chat windows and screening guilds before letting their kids join them—seemed to work out pretty well.

It's a pretty fun game to play...the strategy really gets you to think...i've been playing it since i was 14 and i'm 21 now and i haven't come across anything "bad"...i don't think there's any sexual themes in the game...and if there were...then the rating would be AO..."Adults Only"...have fun.

I've played warcraft a lot and it is totally harmless. The characters are animated and there isn't a lot of blood and gore. I would caution if you are letting him play World of Warcraft which is the online version. The game itself is harmless but he could run into other players online who might use inappropriate language.

My sister plays that game- I HATE it! She is ADDICTED to that game and she drives me CRAZY! I don't know how sexual it is, but I know that the characters can dance a bit sexual, that is what my sister told me.

My 12 yr old girl likes it. Warriers can be dressed in tight clothes by nothing worse than most of what you see in everyday life... tv, magazines, etc.
Relax.
