Life Span: 30-90 Days (Average).
A flea might live a year and a half under ideal conditions. These include the right temperature, food supply, and humidity. Generally speaking, though, an adult flea only lives for 2 or 3 months. Without a host for food, a flea's life might be as short as a few days. But with ample food supply, the adult flea will often live up to 100 days.

Over her life span, a female flea may lay several
hundred eggs. Immature fleas called larvae hatch within two weeks. Larvae live in cracks and crevices and feed on
organic material, including tapeworm eggs.

Flea eggs can go dormant if they do not have the correct environment. An experiment on Discovery Channel proved that fleas will hatch after 2 years!!! I found that particularly creepy.
Don't know about life span, sorry

they can live on an animal for quite some time... if you have fleas in your home the best way to get them out is to get frontline plus for your animals treat them every one for three months and when you treat the animals than there is a huge white colored can of flea spray at fleet farm for 9.98 (appx.) in the farm sprays.. i used foggers and everything else for houses and nothing works.. i used this spray for in barns and pooooffff all fleas were GONE its been about 8 months since my last spraying of the house and treatment of the animals and haven't seen a flea.. if you want to know the exact name just send me an email at littlechicky_82@yahoo.com

Fleas are tough to get rid of. If you have them in your house you must treat everything, the pets, house, and yard. Do it at the same time and get it done before it gets really bad.
