Just keep this simple rule in mind.
Every smallest piece of data in a PC is stored in a 8 bit length (imagine a row of 8 lights which can be turned on or off at a same time with 8x8 diffrent patterns), then data is count by a number that derivates from the power of 8. (8-16-32-64-128-256-512-1024...)
That 8 bits formed a BYTE which is a basic single piece of data that a computer can read and execute.
So
1 Byte = 1024KB (KyloByte)
1024 KB = 1MB (MegaByte)
1024MB = 1GB (GigaByte)
1024GB = 1TB (TeraByte)

You can always make unit conversions in google. For this case "7.1 megabit to Kb" in the seach bar gives you: 7.1 megabit = 7 270.4 kilobits. :)

One megabyte is 1,024 kb, so it's about 7,268 kb.
