I believe caucasians would like to acquire the qualities of a dark person this is due to the trend. If you see all around you. Most black people are winning beauty pageants and many become famous models also. People now a days would like to find beauty in all aspect of life. Since black mixed with white usually would result to what we call today an exotic beauty. So hoorah to the people of today. We have realized that all is equal and the mixture of races created better human for the future.

Because like everything in life, no one is ever happy with what God gave them. Curly hair wants straight, straight wants curly, black wants lighter, white wants darker, thin wants curves, curvy wants less....It crosses all culture lines and all ethnic groups. How many of my black girlfriends straightened and bleached their hair growing up...How many hispanic women bleach or dye their hair....

Stick figures on the fashion runways. and the list goes on. It's all about fads. It's very fashioneable these days to look like an extra from a rap video these days. Next year it will be something else.

i don't think of white women are inevitably attempting to "obtain black lady characteristics." in case you seem in magazines and on television you spot a lot of those figures portraid as pleasing by using the media. i experience it fairly is why women of all cultural backgrounds, no longer only white women, going to massive lengths to have those features.

I'm white and I would get my butt done before I got my breasts done. If I had the money and the nerve to do it. But I'm not your typical white girl. I think that girls with some extra pounds are more attractive than the ones with the "heroin chic" look.

I told my mom not too long ago that I didn't realize I was growing such a hot commodity on my backside. I guess I shall call my butt a blessing rather than a curse.

You can say that, but you can also say that about the other way around, black women wanting to get relaxers and wear long weaves, instead of loving our beautiful natural hair. I'm guilty of it, but...I dont do it to be more like white women, I do it because I want to and it makes me happy. And maybe thats why white women do it, to make themselves happier in who they are, not neccarsily always to be like black women. :o)

I've asked the same question also and they look down on black and hispanic women. I think it's now becoming noticeable that thick is sexy.

Wow! I always thought black women were always trying to obtain white female characteristics, not the other way around. 90% of black women use painful chemicals to straighten their hair or wear wigs or weaves to get the hair texture of caucasian/asian/latino hair (not like .0001% of white women who get collegen in their lips). In addition many black women dye their already artificially straightened/weaved hair blonde or red and wear blue/green/hazel contact lenses in addition to wearing heavy beigh foundation many shades too light for their skin to appear lighter (such as Beyonce, Mary J. Blige). In addition, many use harmful bleaching creams-not a natural reaction to the sun's rays-to artificially lighten their skin which is an epidemic in Africa and the Caribbean. Furthermore, many use makeup to "caucasianize" their facial features such as Beyonce who places a white strip of makeup on the bridge of her nose and dark makeup on the sides to give the illusion of a narrower "more caucasian" nose if not getting plastic surgery to narrow their noses like Janet Jackson, Lil' Kim, etc. Finally, 100% white women like Charlize Theron, Catheran Zeta Jones, Anna Kournikova, Claudia Schiffer, etc. are what white women desire to look like and asian women desire to look like 100% asian Lucy Liu and Zhang Ziyi and Jennifer Lopez and Eva Mendes round out the 100% latino women, while black women that are shown are all 50% white/asian/latino like Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Amerie, Claudette Ortiz, Christina Milian, Leila Arcieri, Salli Richardson, Michael Michelle, Jennifer Beals, Gloria Rueben, Thandi Newton, Lisa Bonet, Jennifer Freeman, and Mariah Carey.
