I came out about a year ago, and I've been taking that time to let others adjust to the change. Now, I'm really looking for a boyfriend. How do I go about getting one? I go the bars and clubs, and there are a lot of cute/hot guys there, but I'm really just looking for a steady boyfriend. What can I do? It's frustrating seeing couples and no singles.

It's all in the networking. Sounds like you don't have a very big network of like minded individuals (yeah, other gay guys). First, work to expand your network. Don't just go to the bars, go to events and such as well. Look for local community items and places. This is where you want to meet people, where abilities are not impaired and you are more likely to find someone for a relationship vs a one night play session in smeone's dungeon. Oh, and to do this, you will need to actually step away from a computer and meet people face to face in a large socail situation. So make sure your people skills are up to par, and if they aren't, fake it. Once you get the confidence, you will not be faking it any more.

Try finding friends first who are also gay, and through friends you'll get to meet other gay men who might be single and looking for the same thing. Be social!

OR

Make a profile in a meeting site for gay men. it sounds lame, but there you can see who is single and looking for a boyfriend. My recommendation: www.gayday.co.uk
It's for all over the world.

Try not to get too sucked in though...

Firstly you have to be sure of what you want. Dont just because everyone else around you has a boyfriend you started to feel like you have to have one also. Trust your instinct. Socialize. Give people chance to understand you and let yourself understand people. The rest will find its way.

Just meet lots of guys.

Date some of them.

Enjoy what you enjoy.

Keep your priorities in good order.

When you find one who makes your heart sing, pay attention, and slow down some.
