If you are a Democrat - and there had to be a Republican president in 08, who would you want it to be.

And if you are a Republican, and there had to be a Democrat in 08, who would you want it to be?

- and why?

I am asking this as an unbiased question, so if you just intend to rip on the other party, please don't waste your time.

That's a tuff one to answer since either way - you end up with a politician. Is there a difference anymore?

Can't we just vote for a whole new group of schmucks to run our country? I'm sick of the same tired old choices.

Colin Powell or John McCain. They have far more integrity and smarts than the current President, and have a better sense of what military service and sacrifice are to one's country. No stupid "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" banners while playing dress-up on aircraft carriers, well before anything remotely resembling stability in Iraq was established. They would also cater less to the fundamentalists and more to the working class.

I'm neither, I try to vote for the best person for the job.
If I had my choice, though, I would love to see Evan Bayh run for president...he would have my vote.
He is intelligent, and seems to genuinely care..something of a rarity on Captiol Hill.

I like Lieberman. I don't think he has much charisma, but he seems to be an honest, ethical man of good character. I might disagree with him a lot, but I don't think he would do anything to shame the office, like Clinton did.

To tell you the truth I cannot think of one repuglican that would be a good president as they all believe in supply side economics which always results in a recession.

I will take Joe Lieberman since he represents the best of a bad lot of available Dems.

I'm Repub so I would have to settle for Hillary because she's smart enough to realize that she'd get "impeached" if she went too far left...or assassinated after Bill...
