Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (Shakira) best known as a musical performer who performed hits such as, whenever,wherever, la tortura and most recently hips dont lie, was pronounced dead early thursday morning july 20th 2006.the reason for her death is said to be alchohol poisoning.
Shakira was supposed to be performing in a concert to support the Arabs some time in the near future.
Shakira will always be remembered for her truth telling hips and breasts that cannot be confused for mountains.
She leaves behind her mother Nidia Ripoll Torrado,brother Jekon Mebarak Chadid and other family memebers and friends not to mention all of her fans.

I don't think so. Shakira was alive and well when she made a statement calling an end to hostilities in the Middle East at 2PM on the 23rd of July.

Sweetie, Why wouldn't you check MTV.COM before posting such a thing? All you are doing is fueling the rumor mill. Not to mention that I'm sure Shakira is not too thrilled to find out she died last Thursday morning. Gimmie a break....DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE SPREADING HORRIBLE RUMORS. i don't think so. If it were true, it would've hit our newspapers by now and everyone would be talking about it. If you check her official website, there's no mention about her death, and she has added a few more shows along the way too.
