That's just your ego getting restless. Try sitting quietly and focusing on your breath, the sensations in your body, your twitches and movements, and the sounds around you. Sit upright in a comfortable position -- not too rigid, not too relaxed. Notice the activity and chatter of your mind but don't dwell on it and keep returning to your breath. It will take some practice, but hopefully you will reach a point where boredom will be replaced by an inner calmness. You will learn to cherish those quiet times.

If you are bored, get a job. If you are that bored and have a job, get up and clean the house. If you already have a clean house and a job, get involved in charity work or some other civic activity. Boredom should never be an acceptable mental condition. Life is too full of things to do.
