Since you have said that you don't have any Anti-virus programs, that could mean that you have a wonderful little friend living inside your nice computer. Along with this little friend is another little guy called SPY. He just happened to bring his Buddie with him, AD. Download AVG Anti-virus from Grisoft, Ad-Aware from Lavasoft and Spy-bot Search and Destroy from C-net downloads.com. These are all free programs and do a fine job of ridding your computer of those pests and PROTECTING your computer. Download them, then update them, then run them. Are you running on battery or mains power? If it's battery they might just be going flat. It could also mean your computer is becoming too hot which causes the crashes. You really need to take it into the shop and ask them to diagnose it. Good luck!

First check start/settings/control panel/Add-Remove Programs, for items that shouldn't be there. Anything that says "toolbar" or anything that looks like adware/spyware. Then remove it. After that do a disk cleanup.. A defrag wouldn't hurt either. If that doesn't work, let us know. We can dig a little deeper and see what things startup when you turn your machine on.

Try running a virus scan and a spyware scan (to run the spyware scan download Spybot Search and Destroy, you can also try Adaware, both are free). If those don't work, you should probably start calling people (like the people that make your laptop).

That is a OS problem. You may need to get your vendor to reinstall Windows. Good luck on fixing the problem.

Edit: What browser do you use?
