Send it to apple.

Is it still under warranty? They'll either fix the problem or give you a new iPod if it is.

Try holding the menu and the select buttons (the select button is the one in the middle) and hold them for about 5 to 10 seconds. An apple icon should pop up.

Everyone is on the right track, but forgetting the first step. You have to toggle the hold switch on and off, then hold the menu and select (middle button) for 6 seconds. Hope this helps!

Hold down the center button and the menu button for at least 6 seconds. That should re-boot it. If that doesn't work, take it to an apple store.

Press the menu and play button at the exact same time for a few seconds.

did you do the menu and select thing right?
togge the hold thing from hold to off to back to hold and then off
then hold menu and the select thing down

HINT: it helps if you lay it on a table or something with more stability
