my friends ex took a plea bargain for child neglect, abuse, selling vicodin, and had a dirty urine. the kids went into foster care and have been there for about 5 months. at a hearing she asked that her random drug tests be dropped and another person who was charged with child abuse was not dropped either.
what is the usual plea bargain for a case like this? they live in michigan

Thank God Michigan is looking out for the best interests of her kids. If she doesn't love her kids enough to get clean, she doesn't deserve them. So many, many horrible things happen to children in foster care, but she obviously doesn't care. I pray that these kids are with a good family.
They ought to just throw the woman into prison. That's what would happen here in Florida.
Instead of not wanting to be testing, has she even considered drying out? Perhaps you should befriend her motherless children instead of her. I could NEVER be friends with a woman who did not love and care for her kids.
