Do they cause any damage? I have them all over the wood in my garden and in the screened porch. What can i do to get rid of them? I literally have thousands of them out in the yard.

Pill bugs. No they do not cause damage, they are nuisance bugs. They are looking for cool, moist areas right now with all the heat. Either check with a pest control company or go to a gardening store and ask what they have to sell and how to apply for pill bugs. Good Luck! PS-Ignore Bosley. He is a real sour pus and bitter individual!

It MIGHT not be a bug bite at all. Have you told you doctor about the bed bug thing and that they appear out of no where? If not you should. I remember my friend got this rash and the doctor kept on saying it was a tick bite. Well she had a tick bite but thats not what caused the rash. It ended up that she wasnt washing her clothes good enough and using too much soap. It also could be an allergic reaction to body wash ect. I hope that helped :}

Look carefully--potato bugs tend to be white and about the size of a lima bean.

Pill bugs is one name, but another is sal bugs...look carefully, if they are slightly blue then they are definetly Sal bugs.

And they are harmless. Get dandilions.

And I would like to add that the guy that just insulted your honest question is totally out of line. People should ignore him, not your question.

are they about 1/2 inch long? if so, they could be dung beetles. especially if you have a dung-producer out in the yard (like a dog) from time to time. but i'm no entomologist.

EDIT: the dude who answered below me has anger and stress.

Potato bugs. They don't cause any harm. They are docile creatures eating the roots of plants and grass.
