can you hear the fuel pump run at key on it should for approx. 3 seconds. if yes next check for ignition spark [ pull out 1 spark plug wire from the distributor cap now hold it close to the tower terminal and have someone else crank the engine do you see a blue spark?]WARNING NOTE: WHILE PREFORMING THE ABOVE DO NOT HOLD THE WIRE BY THE METAL TERMINAL OR GROUND YOURSELF TO THE BODY a nasty shock will be sure to follow. if you did not hear the fuel pump and you do have spark replace the main relay [it will be gray in color with a red or brown bottom],it is mounted on a bracket under the dash to the left of the steering column. if you can hear the pump but have no spark chances are you will need a new ign. module this is located inside the distributor , depending on your skill level you may opt for a re-manufactured distributor. if you can hear the pump, have spark, know that the cams are turning[timing belt is not broken] place a screwdriver against a fuel injector and listen for a clicking while someone cranks it over . if it clicks you may have a bad fuel pump that runs but wont pump, and a fuel-pressure test is the next step. at this point the car should go to a shop you can trust for further diagnostic investigation.
