I know this is a weird question, but honestly...everytime you go to one, there all these rude, nasty, people that bump into you and don't say excuse me...and then they glare at you, and/or bite your head off...everyone is just so grouchy! I hate it!! Who's with me????

It's not just grocery stores; these people are everywhere. The only way to avoid it is never leave home!

Yes I despise going grocery shopping. In fact , I posted a question the other night about some creepy guy working there. Anyways, people in grocery stores are apathetic and hate their job. I believe they hire younger high school people with no social skills because those are the only people that would WANT to work there, unless you are in management.
Yes I agree, the ones I came across with gave me an attitude, ignored my greetings, never say thank you, hand you the change without saying anything , and are rude.
You can't avoid going to the grocery store. Try using the self-checkout lines if they have them available. If they don't and you must deal with people, just understand people that go there and act that way are not nice people and it should not change you.
The other day I was in a grocery store and some lady blocked the aisle with her cart. Anyways, she saw me and she glared at me for no reason. I just smiled at her and said "excuse me" and she still glared at me. She must have stared at me for 10 seconds. But anyways yes that is rude, but it's not you, it's them. I don't know anyone that likes going grocery shopping. Hopefully you will get a nice cashier and nobody will bump into you.

You've actually asked two questions as far as I'm concerned - and my answer is hate is a little strong - but I do dislike both - grocery stores - because they never leave things where you can find them in the same place everytime and rude people, because they are rude. However, I do try to lead by example, so I make it a point if I'm putting something back that I've changed my mind about wanting, not to just put it anywhere, but back where I got it and when rude people are rude, I usually say "Oh, excuse, me I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to be in your way, can I reach something for you, here let me move my cart, blah, blah, blah" and I just babble on and on and I reach for their arm as I'm babbling and smiling and they finally are looking at me like I wish I had just been nice and gone on about my business. Then if I see them in another aisle, I apologize all over again and it's amazing how fast they get out of my way!! I wasn't the one who was rude in the first place - but by overkill in niceness, I've driven them crazy and I've even seen them go clear to the end of the store opposite where I am and work back up the aisles! I just have fun with it - if they're that rude, they need a little 5'2" bubble in their life that just radiates and oozes the very kindnesses they actually detest. I love humoring them!

I'm with you! But not all grocery stores are like that. A lot depends on the neighborhood. Some of the nicest areas can have rude people in the stores. The big supermarkets with lots of nasty traffic around them are the worst. If the traffic is full of rude people, then the stores nearby will be, too.
I prefer to shop in our small town grocery store for that very reason, even though we sometimes pay higher prices for it. If you want to find a calm, relaxed and friendly grocery store... try the smaller cities.

I hate all stores because of rude people. It's an epidemic. A couple months ago I dropped all my change in a store, and while I was on my knees picking it up, every single one of the customers in line behind me walked right over me like I was a mud puddle or something and went about their business. What a disgrace.

I completely understand. Let me give you an example, I am seven months pregnant, I cannot move around easyily. Its obivious to anyone who pays attention, that I have this huge belly and can't move around in tight spaces very well. I was at the pharmacy the other day in the market, and this man first cuts in front of me, then has the nerve to just stand there while I am trying to move my cart around him! I finally just stopped and looked at him for a second and said, do you think you could possibly get out of my way please? He just stared at me, and then moved up an inch to the counter! Maybe he has issues with pregnant ladies, maybe I am just extra emotional, but it was just another rude incident at the market!

I used to REALLY hate shopping. That's why I shop late at night. Ahhhh, what peace! Our store stays open until midnight & Pak N Save stays open all night. I don't mind shopping anymore. In fact, I kind of like it. Those I meet are usually more relaxed, kind, and laid back. After work, people are rushing, hot, tired... You might want to try it. It works for me. ;-)) Anyway, good luck.
