For techies out there, is Outlook Express using my computer and my local service provider e-mail more secure than using hotmail, yahoo , Gmail?
Next, which is more secure, hotmail, yahoo mail, or Gmail?
I'm quite concerned with the security issues.

No. Yahoo Email is consider as the most secure Email program. It does help when you make sure you have an Email Anti-Virus program to Scan attachments.

My Online Protection package has the Norton Email Scanner in it and has alerted me to many infection attempts. I also use a program called Cyberhawk. It does not scan the email but will stop any infection attempt that Norton misses. This has happened 7 times over the last 6 months or so. Norton was not updated to recognize new Trojans in the Attachments. Cyberhawk uses a different system to recognize Malware and blocks it from dowloading and installing. If it does install Cyberhawk is able to remove it. It need to be used with your AV and AS program to provide maximum protection. And, it is Free.

most all of the free service email's use a secure encrypted login, which is secure. If you are using those it is best to use Firefox, it is relatively new on the market of browsers, fast, user friendly and very customizeable. The are always coming up with new updates for Firefox to keep those pesky hackers from learning loopholes.

if you are running a firewall you shouldn't have to worry about being port scanned or anything of that nature either, and windows comes with a built in firewall.
