I learned to play guitar by listening to Megadeth and I've always maintained that "Rust In Peace" has the best guitar playing of any non-instrumental metal album. Also, "Countdown To Extinction" is one of the best recorded albums of all time (I'm a professional audio engineer). I use "Countdown" as a reference for mixing heavy metal all the time. Those albums had the band's golden lineup (Mustaine, Friedman, Menza, Ellefson).

I've found the last few albums to be lacking the things that made me a fan of the band, like the stellar guitar playing. If this is really a return to the older stuff like they say it is (which they always seem to do) I'll definitely be in line to pick it up.

Trivia Note: They are using John Bonham's (Led Zeppelin) drum kit on the record which was recorded in David Gilmore's (Pink Floyd) studio.
